The rapid growth of short-video-based social commerce like TikTok has transformed digital shopping behavior. Understanding the factors influencing purchasing decisions is crucial, especially among Generation Z consumers who are reactive to content stimuli. This study aims to analyze the effect of short video content attributes, namely vividness, informativeness, and sales promotion, on perceived value and online purchase intention among TikTok users in Indonesia. Additionally, this study examines the mediating role of perceived value in these relationships. A quantitative approach was employed using an online survey of 221 Generation Z respondents who have never transacted on TikTok Shop. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4, grounded in Signaling Theory and the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework. The results indicate that vividness, informativeness, and sales promotion have a significant positive effect on perceived value. However, online purchase intention is driven directly only by informativeness and sales promotion. Vividness merely acts as an initial hook to retain viewers' attention, while perceived value fails to mediate all relationships. In conclusion, the short video ecosystem encourages reactive processing, allowing functional and financial signals to trigger instant purchasing decisions without requiring a profound value evaluation stage.
