Masalah Sosial dalam Novel Nasrun bi Janahin Wahid Karya Haifa Bitar: Analisis Sosiologi Sastra

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap masalah sosial yang terdapat dalam novel Nasrun bi Janahin Wahid Karya Haifa Bitar. Novel tersebut mengangkat berbagai permasalahan sosial yang terjadi dalam masyarakat Suriah pada tahun 1990-an. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra yang memandang karya sastra sebagai refleksi sosial atau cerminan masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik homolog, yaitu menganalisis masalah sosial dalam novel kemudian menghubungkannya dengan fakta sosial yang terjadi di masyarakat Suriah pada periode tersebut.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya berbagai masalah sosial yang ditemukan dalam novel Nasrun bi Janahin Wahid Karya Haifa Bitar. Pertama, masalah kemiskinan dalam bentuk rendahnya gaji dokter dan perawat serta terbatasnya akses terhadap pendidikan dan layanan kesehatan. Kedua, masalah kejahatan dalam bentuk kekerasan seksual dan penindasan terhadap perempuan. Ketiga, masalah birokrasi dalam bentuk korupsi dan suap. Keempat, masalah pelanggaran terhadap norma-norma masyarakat dalam bentuk alkoholisme, pelacuran, dan delinkuensi anak-anak. Kelima, masalah kependudukan dalam bentuk pertumbuhan penduduk yang memperparah kemiskinan dan masuknya pengungsi Gaza ke kamp-kamp pengungsian Damaskus. Keenam, masalah disorganisasi keluarga dalam bentuk keretakan hubungan keluarga.

The purpose of this research is to describe the social problems portrayed in the novel Nasrun bi Janahin Wahid by Haifa Bitar. The novel presents various social problems that occurred in Syrian society during the 1990s. The analysis of social problems in this research is based on the theory of the sociology of literature, which views literary works as a reflection of society. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a homology technique, namely analyzing the social problems depicted in the novel and then relating them to the social realities that existed in Syrian society during that period.

The results of this research show that various social problems are found in the novel Nasrun bi Janahin Wahid. First, the problem of poverty, reflected in the low salaries of doctors and nurses as well as limited access to education and healthcare services. Second, the problem of crime, reflected in sexual violence and the oppression of women. Third, the problem of bureaucracy, reflected in corruption and bribery. Fourth, the problem of violations of social norms, reflected in alcoholism, prostitution, and juvenile delinquency. Fifth, the problem of population, reflected in population growth that exacerbates poverty and the influx of Gaza refugees into refugee camps in Damascus. Sixth, the problem of family disorganization, reflected in the breakdown of family relationships.
