Peran Director of Photography dalam film pendek fiksi “Selaras” mengenai polarisasi politik dalam relasi keluarga

Konsumsi media secara intens pada individu cenderung akan membentuk paparan informasi yang tidak utuh atau sempit, sehingga mendorong terbentuknya echo chamber yang dapat memperkuat polarisasi opini politik. Kondisi ini berpotensi memengaruhi hubungan interpersonal, termasuk dalam lingkungan keluarga. Film pendek fiksi Selaras diciptakan untuk merepresentasikan konflik interpersonal keluarga akibat polarisasi politik melalui pendekatan sinematografi. Film ini bercerita mengenai hubungan Laras dan Pak Joko sebagai representasi perbedaan cara pandang politik akibat konsumsi media dan pengalaman hidup yang berbeda. Laporan penciptaan karya ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan proses kreatif Director of Photography dalam menerjemahkan fenomena tersebut ke dalam bahasa visual film. Landasan konseptual yang digunakan meliputi teori echo chamber, konflik interpersonal dalam keluarga, serta teori sinematografi. Metode penciptaan dilakukan melalui tahapan pra-produksi, produksi, dan pascaproduksi. Hasil penciptaan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan komposisi, pencahayaan, pergerakan kamera, dan tata warna mampu membangun tone ketegangan, kecemasan, dan jarak emosional antar tokoh. Sinematografi dalam film Selaras berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai elemen estetis, tetapi juga sebagai media komunikasi visual dalam merepresentasikan konflik interpersonal.

Intense media consumption by individuals tends to create incomplete or narrow information exposure, thus encouraging the formation of echo chambers that can strengthen the polarization of political opinion. This condition has the potential to affect interpersonal relationships, including within the family environment. The fictional short film Selaras was created to represent interpersonal family conflict due to political polarization through a cinematographic approach. This film tells the story of the relationship between Laras and Pak Joko as a representation of the differences in political views due to media consumption and different life experiences. This creation report aims to describe the creative process of the Director of Photography in translating this phenomenon into the visual language of the film. The basic concepts used include the theory of echo chambers, interpersonal conflict in families, and cinematographic theory. The creation method was carried out through pre-production, production, and post-production stages. The creation results show that the use of composition, lighting, camera movement, and color schemes are able to build a tone of tension, anxiety, and emotional distance between characters. Cinematography in the film Selaras functions not only as an aesthetic element, but also as a visual communication medium in representing interpersonal conflict.
