Skripsi ini menawarkan sudut pandang dalam mengurai proses dialog dalam seni kolektif yang berbasis keterlibatan sosial pada studi platform A Pond is The Reverse of An Island. Saya berusaha menunjukkan adanya proses dialog dan transformasi dalam memaknai kondisi refugee dan realitas diri oleh setiap seniman yang tergabung. Dengan mengakar pada pemikiran dialogical art practices, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dengan adanya perjumpaan dalam platform membentuk pengalaman setiap seniman. Pengalaman tersebut tercipta dari proses panjang negosiasi relasional dan refleksi yang berulang seniman lokal dan seniman refugee. Ditambah, transformasi pemakanaan yang dialami bersifat parsial, situasional, dan berulang. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa seni kolektif yang memiliki keterlibatan sosial tidak hanya memberikan medium ekspresi pada penciptaan karya tetapi juga sebagai sebuah “tenunan utuh” proses dialog seniman dalam memproduksi makna bersama. 

This thesis offers a perspective on examining dialogical processes within socially engaged collective art through a study of the platform A Pond is The Reverse of An Island. It seeks to demonstrate the presence of dialogical processes and transformations in how the condition of refugees and personal realities are interpreted by each artist involved. Grounded in the framework of dialogical art practices, this study shows that encounters within the platform shape the experiences of each artist. These experiences emerge through prolonged processes of relational negotiation and repeated reflection between local artists and refugee artists. Furthermore, the transformations of meaning that occur are partial, situational, and recurrent. Thus, this research emphasizes that socially engaged collective art not only provides a medium for artistic expression in the production of artworks, but also constitutes a “cohesive weave” of dialogical processes through which artists collectively produce shared meanings
