MEMPERSOALKAN KEMBALI RELASI MANUSIA DENGAN “YANG LAIN” DALAM CERPEN ”ISTRI SEMPURNA” KARYA AVEUS HAR: KAJIAN EKSISTENSIALISME SARTRE

Penelitian ini berjudul “Mempersoalkan Kembali Relasi Manusia dengan “Yang Lain” dalam Cerpen “Istri Sempurna” Karya Aveus Har: Kajian Eksistensialisme Sartre”. Latar belakang penelitian ini berangkat dari fenomena kemajuan teknologi yang menghadirkan manusia artifisial atau cyborg sebagai “Yang Lain” dalam kehidupan manusia. Cerpen “Istri Sempurna” karya Aveus Har yang dimuat dalam Harian Kompas edisi 27 Agustus 2023 dan masuk dalam Cerpen Kompas Pilihan 2023 menjadi salah satu karya yang mempersoalkan fenomena tersebut. Cerpen ini mengisahkan tokoh Aku yang hidup bersama istri gynoid, sebuah bentuk cyborg yang diciptakan untuk kesempurnaan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi. Data utama berupa teks cerpen “Istri Sempurna” dianalisis dengan menggunakan teori eksistensialisme Jean-Paul Sartre, yaitu konsep kebebasan, autentisitas, keterasingan, dan relasi manusia dengan “Yang Lain.”

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa relasi antara tokoh Aku dan istrinya merupakan relasi artifisial yang meniadakan kebebasan, konflik, dan komunikasi manusiawi. Relasi ini menyebabkan keterasingan eksistensial. Tokoh Aku kemudian menolak relasi tersebut dengan mengambil keputusan untuk bercerai, sebagai bentuk keberanian eksistensial dalam menegaskan kebebasan dirinya. Dengan demikian, cerpen “Istri Sempurna” menghadirkan kritik bahwa kesempurnaan artifisial bukan jalan menuju kebahagiaan, melainkan sumber keterasingan. Relasi autentik hanya mungkin terwujud dengan menerima ketidaksempurnaan manusiawi dari “Yang Lain”.

This research is entitled “Reconsidering Human Relations with “the Other” in Aveus Har’s Short Story “Istri Sempurna”: A Sartrean Existentialism Study”. The background of this study arises from the phenomenon of technological advancement that enables the presence of artificial humans or cyborgs as “the Other” in human life. Aveus Har’s short story “Istri Sempurna”, published in Kompas daily on August 27, 2023, and later included in Kompas Selected Short Stories 2023, is one of the works that explores this phenomenon. The story narrates the life of the narrator who lives with a gynoid wife, a form of cyborg created for perfection. The method applied in this research is descriptive qualitative with content analysis techniques. The primary data source is the text of the short story “Istri Sempurna”, which is analyzed using Jean-Paul Sartre’s existentialist theory, particularly the concepts of freedom, authenticity, alienation, and human relations with “the Other.”

The results show that the relationship between the narrator and his wife represents an artificial relation that eliminates freedom, conflict, and genuine human communication. This condition causes existential alienation. The narrator rejects the relation by deciding to divorce, which serves as an existential act of affirming his freedom. Thus, Aveus Har’s “Istri Sempurna” offers a critique that artificial perfection is not a path to happiness, but rather a source of alienation. Authentic relations can only be realized by accepting the imperfection of the genuine “Other.”
