Olahraga menjadi salah satu kegiatan yang sangat berkembang pesat, mulai dari aktivitas untuk kesehatan masyarakat hingga menjadi sebuah kompetisi bergengsi. Di Indonesia sendiri Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) merupakan kompetisi olahraga nasional paling bergengsi yang mempertandingkan antar provinsi. Provinsi Jawa Tengah menjadi salah satu kontestan yang selalu menduduki klasemen papan atas. Disisi lain meskipun Jawa Tengah merupakan salah satu provinsi dengan SDM atlet terbesar, namun sampai sekarang pun masih belum mampu untuk menjadi Juara Umum dalam ajang nasional tersebut. Diperlukan sebuah upaya optimalisasi pembinaan bibit muda, salah satunya melalui sentra pembinaan dan pelatihan Sekolah Khusus Olahraga (SKO). SKO menjadi sebuah sarana pembinaan olahraga yang sistematis bagi pelajar tanpa meninggalkan kewajiban belajarnya. Perancangan Sekolah Khusus Olahraga dengan pendekatan Arsitektur High Tech diharapkan bisa memenuhi tujuannya dalam membina dan meningkatkan performa maksimal atlet melalui bangunan yang mendukung dan mengoptimalkan proses latihan. SKO nantinya juga diharapkan mampu meningkatkan budaya olahraga dalam masyarakat setempat, dan meningkatkan kunjungan sport enthusiast untuk mendukung program sport tourism pemerintah kabupaten setempat.

Sports have become one of the most rapidly developing activities, ranging from promoting public health to becoming prestigious competitions. In Indonesia, the National Sports Week (PON) is the most prestigious national sports competition, where provinces compete against each other. Central Java is one of the contestants that consistently ranks among the top on the leaderboard. However, despite being one of the provinces with the largest pool of athletic human resources, Central Java has yet to secure the overall championship title in this national event. Therefore, efforts to optimize the development of young talent are necessary, one of which is through the establishment of training and development centers such as Special Sports Schools (SKO). SKO serves as a structured sports training facility for students without neglecting their academic obligations. The design of a Special Sports School with a High-Tech Architecture approach is expected to fulfill its objective of nurturing and enhancing athletes' maximum performance through facilities that support and optimize training processes. Additionally, SKO is expected to foster a stronger sports culture within the local community and attract sports enthusiasts, thereby contributing to the local government's sport tourism program.
