Pengaruh Penambahan Makroalga Laut (Eucheuma spinosum) Pada Pakan Komersial Terhadap Kualitas Kimia Telur Puyuh (Coturnix coturnix japonica)

Kualitas telur dipengaruhi oleh kandungan nutrien dalam pakan ternak. Makroalga laut Eucheuma spinosum memiliki kandungan nutrien yang penting dalam proses peningkatan kualitas telur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan makroalga laut E. spinosum pada pakan komersial terhadap kualitas kimia telur puyuh. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan 125 ekor puyuh jepang betina (Coturnix coturnix japonica) berumur 42 hari yang dibagi dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan. Setiap kelompok perlakuan terdiri atas 5 ulangan dan setiap ulangan terdiri dari 5 ekor puyuh. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu P0/kontrol: 95% pakan komersial + 5% filler, P1: 95% pakan komersial + 3% filler + 2% tepung E. spinosum, P2: 95% pakan komersial + 2% filler + 3% tepung E. spinosum, P3: 95% pakan komersial + 1% filler + 4% tepung E. spinosum, P4: 95% pakan komersial + 5% tepung E. spinosum. Data variabel kualitas kimia telur yang diamati meliputi kadar air, abu, protein, lemak, ETN, dan kolesterol telur puyuh. Data yang diperoleh selanjutnya dianalisis menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap pola searah dengan software SPSS. Data dengan perbedaan yang nyata diuji lanjut menggunakan Ducan’s New Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan makroaga laut Eucheuma spinosum pada pakan komersial sampai pada level 5% mampu meningkatkan kualitas kimia telur puyuh, khususnya dalam menurunkan kolesterol telur puyuh.

Egg quality is influenced by the nutrient content of animal feed. Marine macroalgae Eucheuma spinosum has an important nutrient content in the process of improving the quality of eggs. This study aims to determine the effect of adding marine macroalgae E. spinosum in commercial feed on the chemical quality of quail eggs. The study was conducted using 125 female Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) aged 42 days which were divided into 5 treatment groups. Each treatment group consisted of 5 replicates and each replicate consisted of 5 quails. The treatments given were P0/control: 95% commercial feed + 5% filler, P1: 95% commercial feed + 3% filler + 2% E. spinosum meal, P2: 95% commercial feed + 2% filler + 3% E. spinosum meal, P3: 95% commercial feed + 1% filler + 4% E. spinosum meal, P4: 95% commercial feed + 5% E. spinosum meal. Data on egg chemical quality variables observed included moisture, ash, protein, fat, ETN, and cholesterol content of quail eggs. The data obtained were then analyzed using a randomized complete block design with SPSS software. Data with significant differences were further tested using Ducan's New Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the addition of marine macroalgae Eucheuma spinosum to commercial feed up to a level of 5?n improve the chemical quality of quail eggs, especially in reducing cholesterol of quail eggs.
