Perkembangan Industri gim di Indonesia meningkat pesat dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Industri gim berkontribsi besar dalam pendapatan Negara. Banyak pekerjaan baru yang lahir dari industri gim ini, salah satunya adalah sebagai pengembang dan pembuat gim itu sendiri. Akan tetapi, pengembang gim masih belum didukung dengan adanya fasilitas yang baik sehingga membuat kurangnya minat pemain gim untuk memainkan gim lokal. Selain itu kurangnya sektor formal di bidang industri gim di Indonesia membuat mahasiswa dari lulusan pengembang gim memilih untuk berkarir di luar Negeri. Karena alasan tersebut perancangan studio game developer dan game center AAA dapat menjadi jawaban yang sesuai.

Kota Surabaya merupakan kota bisnis yang berpotensi dalam pengembangan industri gim. Selain karena Kota Surabaya sebagai kota bisnis, kota surabaya merupakan salah satu kota yang memiliki universitas dengan program studi teknologi gim yang cukup banyak. Terlebih, Kota Surabaya dalam khususnya adalah Surabaya Barat, memiliki demografi dengan jumlah usia produktif terbanyak. Sehingga perancangan studio game developer dan game center sangat cocok berada di kota ini, sehingga dapat menampung pekerja di usia produktif dan komunitas cukup baik untuk berkembang lebih baik lagi.
