Background: Low back pain (LBP) is a common musculoskeletal complaint characterized by discomfort or pain in the lower back area. LBP frequently affects workers who maintain static working postures for extended periods, especially without following ergonomic principles. PT. Mandiri Jogja Internasional, a leathercraft manufacturing company, employs production workers across three subdivisions Preparation, Assembly, and Finishing each involving different working postures such as sitting, standing, and bending for prolonged durations.
Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between working posture and complaints of low back pain among production workers at PT. Mandiri Jogja Internasional.
Methods: This was a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design with total sampling involving 45 production workers. Working posture was assessed using the OWAS (Ovako Working Analyze System) instrument and LBP complaints were measured using the VAS (Visual Analog Scale) instrument. Data were analyzed using the Kendall’s Tau correlation test.
Results: The majority of workers were found to adopt moderate-risk postures, and most reported experiencing moderate levels of low back pain. Statistical analysis revealed a significant positive correlation between working posture and LBP complaints (p < 0>
