ALIH WAHANA KISAH KEN AROK DALAM PARARATON MENJADI SAJIAN PAKELIRAN KI PURBO ASMORO

Penelitian ini membahas tentang proses perubahan atau alih wahana kisah Ken Arok dalam Pararaton menjadi sajian pak?liran Ki Purbo Asmoro. Sajian lakon Ken Arok oleh Ki Purbo Asmoro terbilang cukup unik sebagai sebuah lakon wayang kulit purwa. Sesuai dengan judulnya, lakon tersebut bercerita tentang kisah Ken Arok. Hal tersebut tentunya bukanlah hal yang lumrah dalam sebuah lakon wayang kulit purwa. Oleh sebab itu, dapat dipastikan pula bahwa lakon tersebut tidak menggunakan Ramayana dan Mahabharata sebagai sumber cerita layaknya wayang kulit pada umumnya. Akan tetapi, lakon Ken Arok sajian Ki Purbo Asmoro menggunakan sebuah karya sastra yang berbahasa Jawa Pertengahan, yaitu Pararaton sebagai sumbernya. 

Penelitian ini berusaha mengungkap kisah Ken Arok dalam Pararaton dan dalam sajian pak?liran Ki Purbo Asmoro serta proses alih wahananya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan beberapa teori sastra, yaitu resepsi, intertekstual, dan alih wahana. Dengan metode dan teori tersebut, didapatkan dua hasil penelitian. Pertama, Pararaton digunakan sebagai hipogram oleh Ki Purbo Asmoro dalam lakon Ken Arok akan tetapi Ki Purbo Asmoro sebagai penyaji tidak sepenuhnya terpaku dengan Pararaton. Kedua, terdapat beberapa proses perubahan yang terjadi dari Pararaton ke dalam lakon Ken Arok. Perubahan-perubahan tersebut yaitu penambahan, penciutan, peringkasan, perubahan, visualisasi adegan, narasi, dan kesalahan.

This study discusses the process of transformations the story of Ken Arok from the Pararaton into a shadow puppet performance by Ki Purbo Asmoro. The Ken Arok story by Ki Purbo Asmoro is quite unique as purwa shadow puppet story. As the title suggests, the story tells the story of Ken Arok. This is certainly not common in a purwa shadow puppet story. Therefore, it can also be ascertained that the play does not use the Ramayana and Mahabharata as sources of stories like shadow puppets in general. However, the Ken Arok story performed by Ki Purbo Asmoro uses a text in Middle Javanese, namely the Pararaton as its source.

This study attempts to reveal the story of Ken Arok in Pararaton and in the shadow puppet performance by Ki Purbo Asmoro and the process of his transformation. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method using several literary theories, namely reception, intertextuality, and trasmediality. With these methods and theories, two research results were obtained. First, the Pararaton is used as a hypogram by Ki Purbo Asmoro in the Ken Arok story but Ki Purbo Asmoro as the puppeteer is not completely fixated on the Pararaton. Second, there are several processes of transformations that occur from the Pararaton into the Ken Arok story. These changes are additions, reductions, summaries, changes, scene visualizations, narratives, and errors.
