Online learning is a method that continues to be applied as a complement to the education system in the post-COVID-19 pandemic era. Its implementation is inseparable from various challenges that require in-depth evaluation, one of which is through a study that focuses on learner perceptions. The COLLES (Constructivist Online Learning Environment Survey) method is designed to understand students' perceptions of the online learning environment based on the principles of social constructivism-based learning.
This research design uses cross-sectional survey method with convenience sampling technique. Data processing and analysis were done descriptively. The research instrument was a questionnaire consisting of 24 statements with answer options in the form of a 1-5 Liket scale to identify student perceptions of online academic activities after the COVID-19 pandemic based on the six dimensions in COLLES. This study involved 101 respondents through a digital questionnaire in the form of a Google Form distributed online. Data analysis was conducted using Microsoft Excel 365.
The results show that the implementation of online learning after the COVID-19 pandemic is not the main method in the curriculum with a low frequency of implementation and is incidental or situational. Access to technology is quite good with laptops as the main type of device used, either independently or in combination with other devices. From the accessibility aspect, online learning can run smoothly although there are still some problems such as device constraints, internet connection, and ease of access to materials which are not the main obstacles. Based on the aspects in COLLES, the dimensions of relevance (average 3.96), reflection (average 3.58), instructor support (average 3.51), and interpretation (average 3.61) are in the good category which represents that the learning material is relevant to the scientific field, the instructor provides adequate support, and students are quite capable of understanding and reflecting on learning. However, the interactivity aspect (average 2.59) is in the poor category and the support between students (average 2.94) is in the fair category indicating the need for improvement in the strategy of creating a more collaborative and interactive online learning environment. Improvements in these two aspects are expected to support optimal academic success.
