Eksplorasi Dunia dalam Novel Ethile! Ethile! Karya Benny Arnas: Analisis Sastra Perjalanan Carl Thompson

Penelitian ini mengkaji novel Ethile! Ethile! karya Benny Arnas dengan menggunakan teori sastra perjalanan Carl Thompson. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkaji pola penggambaran dunia dalam novel serta keterkaitannya dengan motivasi, agenda, dan ideologi pengarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui analisis deskriptif dengan sumber data berupa kutipan novel dan referensi pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola penggambaran dunia dalam novel ini bersifat subjektif dan berfokus pada eksplorasi dunia perjalanan. Analisis yang lebih mendalam membuktikan bahwa motivasi pengarang dalam perjalanan adalah untuk mengeksplorasi dunia dan berinteraksi dengan masyarakat setempat. Selain itu, penggambaran dunia mencerminkan agenda pengarang, termasauk implikasi etis dan implikasi politis yang dipengaruhi oleh ideologi nasionalisme, humanisme, dan Islamisme. Dengan demikian, Ethile! Ethile! merepresentasikan perjalanan tidak hanya sebagai pengalaman eksploratif, tetapi juga sebagai ekspresi dari motivasi, agenda, dan ideologi pengarang.

This research examines the novel Ethile! Ethile! by Benny Arnas using Carl Thompson's theory of travel literature. The purpose of this study is to examine the pattern of world depiction in the novel and its relationship with the author's motivation, agenda, and ideology. This research uses a qualitative method through descriptive analysis with data sources in the form of novel excerpts and supporting references. The results show that the pattern of world depiction in this novel is subjective and focuses on the exploration of the world of travel. A deeper analysis proves that the author's motivation in travelling is to explore the world and interact with the local community. In addition, the depiction of the world reflects the author's agenda, including ethical implications and political implications influenced by the ideologies of nationalism, humanism, and Islamism. Thus, Ethile! Ethile! represents travel not only as an explorative experience, but also as an expression of the author's motivations, agenda, and ideology.
