Estetika Disabilitas Karya Maling Teater Braille

Teater Braille adalah sebuah komunitas seni teater yang berada di Yogyakarta. Komunitas Teater Braille dibentuk pada tahun 2019, dan seluruh anggotanya merupakan penyandang tunanetra baik yang mengalami low vision maupun kebutaan total. Meskipun dengan keterbatasan penglihatan, mereka mampu menampilkan teater sebagai karya seni yang terus dipentaskan dan memiliki banyak karya. Teater adalah bentuk fisik untuk memperkenalkan aktor tunanetra kepada publik melalui seni. Dalam teater Braille, naskah dan dialog diterjemahkan ke dalam huruf braille. Selain itu, aktor teater Braille juga menggunakan teknik-teknik tertentu untuk berkomunikasi dengan penonton tunanetra, seperti menggunakan bahasa tubuh dan gerak tubuh. Penelitian ini membahas tentang proyek komunitas teater Braille yang berjudul 'Maling' di Rumah Wisata Domes, Prambanan, pada tahun 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan Studi Kasus teoritis Hammersley dan Gomm karena proses pengumpulan data dan informasi yang komprehensif, menyeluruh, holistik, dan metodis dengan mempertimbangkan semua aspek penting dari kasus yang diteliti. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan konsep tubuh aktor tunanetra untuk mengkaji berbagai konsep, seperti kesadaran, makna, dan kebenaran yang diperoleh melalui data arsip komunitas teater Braille, ulasan, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi kegiatan. Pendekatan studi kasus ini memperkuat pandangan etik dan emik untuk melihat lebih jelas kealamian disabilitas tunanetra dan tubuh dalam mengurai bentuk teater. Hipotesis dari penelitian ini adalah adanya pengaruh pertunjukan teater terhadap aktor tunanetra dengan menggunakan teori Ranciere (Estetika Politik Disabilitas). Batasan penelitian ini adalah dampak estetika disabilitas pada aktor tunanetra dari perspektif psikologi seni. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi studi lanjutan untuk penelitian selanjutnya melalui perspektif karya sekelompok seniman teater.

Teater Braille is a theatre arts community located in Yogyakarta. The Braille Theatre Community was formed in 2019, and all of its members are visually impaired people with low vision or total blindness. Despite their visual impairments, they are able to present theatre as a work of art that continues to be staged and has many works. Theatre is a physical form of introducing blind actors to the public through art. In Braille theatre, the script and dialogue are translated into braille. In addition, Braille theatre actors also use certain techniques to communicate with blind audiences, such as using body language and gestures. This research discusses a Braille theatre community project entitled ‘Maling’ at Domes Tourist House, Prambanan, in 2023. This research uses a qualitative method with Hammersley and Gomm's theoretical Case Study approach because the process of collecting data and information is comprehensive, thorough, holistic, and methodical by considering all important aspects of the case under study. This research also uses the concept of the blind actor's body to examine various concepts, such as consciousness, meaning, and truth obtained through Braille theatre community archival data, reviews, observations, interviews, and documentation of activities. This case study approach strengthens the ethical and emic view to see more clearly the naturalness of blind disability and the body in unravelling the theatre form. The hypothesis of this research is the influence of theatre performances on blind actors using Ranciere's theory (Political Aesthetics of Disability). The limitation of this research is the aesthetic impact of disability on blind actors from the perspective of art psychology. This research can be a follow-up study for further research through the perspective of the work of a group of theatre artists.
