This study aims to identify and reduce waste and product defects at PT. Sport Glove Indonesia by implementing the Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methodology using the DMAIC approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). The analysis revealed an average product defect rate of 6.03% per month, exceeding the company's tolerance limit of 5%. The primary contributors to waste include poor-quality raw materials, suboptimal working conditions, and inefficient work methods. The solutions implemented involved workflow reorganization through value stream mapping (VSM) , the application of 5S principles, employee training, machine maintenance, and improved supplier selection for raw materials.
The implementation of Lean Six Sigma proved to be effective, resulting in a reduction in product defect rates, improved production time efficiency, and enhanced operational performance. This research provides practical contributions to the textile manufacturing sector, particularly in integrating Lean Six Sigma methods to optimize quality and efficiency in production processes. Managerial implications highlight the importance of raw material quality control, technological investment, continuous employee training, and regular evaluations to sustain improvements. The findings affirm that the systematic application of Lean Six Sigma supports PT. Sport Glove Indonesia in maintaining its position as a leading producer of high-quality golf gloves in the global market.
