MASALAH-MASALAH SOSIAL MESIR ABAD KE-21 DALAM NOVEL ‘ANKH KARYA MARWAN ISMA'IL: ANALISIS SOSIOLOGI SASTRA

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap masalah-masalah sosial Mesir abad ke-21 yang terdapat pada novel 'Ankh karya Marwan Isma'il. Novel yang terbit pada tahun 2022 ini bercerita tentang masalah-masalah sosial yang dialami oleh tokoh sebagai orang Mesir. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk menyelesaikan masalah ternyata menimbulkan masalah sosial yang lain. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra dengan konsep mimesis, yang memposisikan karya sastra sebagai dokumen sosial yang dianggap mampu menjadi refleksi atau cerminan masyarakat pada masanya. Selain itu, metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik homolog. 

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya masalah-masalah sosial masyarakat Mesir abad ke-21 berupa pengangguran, kemiskinan, migrasi ilegal, pengutamaan koneksi, dan kepercayaan terhadap jimat. Berbagai masalah sosial tersebut sesuai dengan fakta sosial yang ada, beberapa telah mendapatkan upaya penanganan dan beberapa masih menjadi tantangan bagi pemerintah. Kesesuaian antara masalah-masalah sosial dalam novel 'Ankh dengan kondisi sosial masyarakat Mesir menandakan bahwa Marwan Isma'il telah memposisikan karya sastra sebagai refleksi atau cerminan. 

This research aims to uncover the social problems of1st century Egypt in Marwan Isma'il's 'Ankh. The novel, published in 2022, tells about the social problems experienced by the characters as Egyptians. And one of the efforts made to solve the problem turned out to cause of other social problems. This research uses the theory of literary sociology with the concept of mimesis, which positions literary works as social documents that are considered capable of being reflection or reflection of society in its time. In addition, the method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with homologous technique. 

The results of this study show the esistence of social problems in 21st century Egyptian society in the form of unemployment, poverty, illegal migration, the prioritization of connections, and the belief in amulets. The various social problems are in accordance with existing social facts, some have been addressed and some are still a challenge for the goverment. The correspondence between the social problems in 'Ankh and the social conditions of Egyptian society indicates that Marwan Isma'il has positioned literary works as a reflection.
