Upaya Rekonstruksi Identitas Melalui Dunia Cerita Antimimetik Cala Ibi Karya Nukila Amal: Kajian Naratif Tak Natural Brian Richardson

Kemunculan karya sastra dengan kecenderungan antirealis selalu menuai perdebatan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh dominasi konvensi realis yang telah mengakar dan sangat mempengaruhi cara seseorang memandang karya sastra. Dalam kondisi yang demikian karya antirealis sering dianggap aneh dan sulit dijelaskan namun di sisi lain ada juga yang menganggapnya sebagai karya yang sangat inovatif. Kondisi yang serupa terjadi dalam sastra Indonesia ketika novel Cala Ibi karya Nukila Amal terbit. 

Penelitian ini mencoba menguraikan konstruksi naratif tak natural dan implikasi politis dari konstruksi naratif dalam novel Cala Ibi menggunakan teori naratif tak natural dari Brian Richardson. Dalam pandangan Richardson karya antirealis yang menentang parameter logis dan fisik dunia nyata dan konvensi realis yang dominan disebut sebagai teks naratif tak natural dan ternyata menyimpan suatu maksud tertentu di samping menunjukkan derajat fiksionalitas dari teksnya. 

Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa novel Cala Ibi dibangun oleh dua dunia cerita yang berbeda. Dunia cerita pertama menggunakan parameter realis, sementara dunia cerita yang lain dikonstruksi dengan parameter anitrealis. Dari konstruksi dua dunia cerita tersebut didapati juga didapati kecenderungan antimimetik di tingkat cerita dan penceritaan. Konstruksi naratif yang demikian kemudian mengimplikasikan sikap politis lewat dunia cerita antimimetik. Adapun sikap politis tersebut merupakan upaya perlawanan terhadap modernisme yakni keterhubungan dengan leluhur sebagai asal-muasal yang membentuk identitas diri, memposisikan alam dalam relasi yang setara dan harus dijaga, serta konsepsi mengenai waktu yang melingkar; keterhubungan dengan masa yang lain. Penggunaan narasi orang kedua “kau” juga berpengaruh terhadap pembaca sebagai naraitf audiens untuk merefleksikan identitasnya. Akan tetapi penggunaan narasi orang kedua “kau” juga menjadikan upaya perlawanan dalam dunia cerita antimimetik menjadi semu.

The emergence of literary works with antirealist tendencies always reaps debate. This is due to the dominance of realist conventions that have taken root and greatly influence the way someone views literary works. In such conditions, antirealist works are often considered strange and difficult to explain, but on the other hand, there are also those who consider them to be very innovative works. A similar condition occurred in Indonesian literature when Cala Ibi’s Nukila Amal was published.

This study attempts to describe the construction of the unnatural narrative poetics and the political implications of the narrative construction in Cala Ibi using Brian Richardson's unnatural narrative theory. In Richardson's view, such works that oppose the logical and physical of the real-world parameters and dominant realist conventions are referred to as unnatural narrative texts and turn out to have a certain purpose in addition to showing the degree of fictionality of the text.

The results of this study indicate that the Cala Ibi is constructed by two different storyworlds. The first storyworld uses realistic parameters, while the other storyworld is constructed with anti-realist parameters. From the construction of the two storyworlds, an anti-mimetic tendency is also found at the story and storytelling level. Such narrative construction then implies a political attitude through the anti-mimetic storyworld. The political attitude is a resistance attempts to modernism, namely the connection with ancestors as the origin that forms self-identity, positioning nature in an equal relationship that must be maintained, and the conception of circular time; interconnectedness with other phase. The use of the second person narrative "you" also influences the reader as the audience narrative to reflect their identity. However, the use of the second person narrative "you" also makes the resistance attempts in the antimimetic storyworld false.
