BENTUK DAN FUNGSI ALIH KODE DALAM VIDEO KANAL YOUTUBE KELUARGA MULTIKULTURAL “KIMBAB FAMILY” BERDASARKAN PERSPEKTIF PENUTUR

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk dan fungsi alih kode yang terjadi dalam video kanal YouTube “Kimbab Family” berdasarkan perspektif penutur yang terdiri dari Mama Gina, Appa Jay, Suji, Yunji, dan Jio. Teori McArthur (2005) digunakan untuk mengklasifikasikan bentuk alih kode dan teori Grosjean (1982) digunakan untuk menganalisis fungsi alih kode. Data penelitian diambil dari sepuluh video dalam kanal YouTube “Kimbab Family”, kemudian dijelaskan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif.

Hasil analisis pada penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat keempat bentuk alih kode berdasarkan teori McArthur (2005) pada tuturan masing-masing penutur, yakni alih kode: (1) Tag-switching; (2) Intra-kalimat; (3) Antar-kalimat; dan (4) Intra-kata. Lalu ditemukan kesepuluh fungsi alih kode berdasarkan teori Grosjean (1982), yakni (1) Memenuhi kebutuhan linguistik; (2) Melanjutkan bahasa terakhir yang digunakan; (3) Mengutip seseorang; (4) Spesifikasi lawan tutur; (5) Mengkualifikasi pesan; (6) Menentukan keterlibatan penutur; (7) Menunjukkan identitas kelompok; (8) Menyampaikan perasaan; (9) Mengecualikan seseorang dari percakapan; (10) Mengubah peran penutur. Namun, hasil analisis pada kesepuluh fungsi alih kode tersebut menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan penggunaan fungsi alih kode oleh masing-masing penutur. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penggunaan keempat bentuk alih kode pada masing-masing penutur dipengaruhi oleh aspek fleksibilitas bahasa. Selain itu, adanya perbedaan penggunaan kesepuluh fungsi alih kode pada masing-masing penutur dipengaruhi oleh aspek kebutuhan komunikasi.

This study examines the form and function of code switching that occur on the YouTube channel videos "Kimbab Family" based on the perspective of the speakers consisting of Mama Gina, Appa Jay, Suji, Yunji, and Jio. McArthur (2005)'s theory is used to classify the form of code switching and Grosjean (1982)'s theory is used to analyze the function of code switching. The research data were taken from 10 videos on the YouTube channel "Kimbab Family", then explained using a qualitative descriptive method.

The results of the analysis in this study indicate that there are 4 forms of code switching based on McArthur (2005)'s theory in each speaker's speech, namely: (1) Tag-switching; (2) Intra-sentential; (3) Inter-sentential; and (4) Intra-word code-switching. Then the 10 functions of code switching were found based on Grosjean (1982)'s theory, namely: (1) Fulfilling linguistic needs; (2) Continuing the last language used; (3) Quoting someone; (4) Specifying addressee; (5) Qualifying the message; (6) Determining speaker involvement; (7) Marking and emphasizing group identity (solidarity); (8) Conveying confidentiality, anger, annoyance; (9) Excluding someone from the conversation; (10) Changing the role of the speaker. However, in the 10 code-switching functions, the analysis results show that there are differences in the use of code-switching functions by each speaker. Based on the results of the study, the use of the 4 forms of code switching in each speaker are influenced by the aspect of language flexibility. In addition, the differences in the use of the 10 code switching functions in each speaker are influenced by the aspect of communication needs.
