Prosedur Kebenaran dalam Novel Trilogi Divergent: Kajian Filsafat Alain Badiou

Penelitian disertasi ini mengungkapkan Divergent sebagai "Being" (yang Tunggal) lewat manifestasi atau wujud empat elemen "being" yang terdapat dalam teks novel trilogi Divergent (NTD). Keempat elemen yang dimaksud, yaitu politik, sains, cinta, dan estetika. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori filsafat Alain Badiou dengan memetakan empat kondisi filsafat, yaitu prosedur kebenaran politik, prosedur kebenaran sains, prosedur kebenaran cinta, dan prosedur kebenaran seni/sastra. Hasil analisis menemukan beberapa hal, yaitu (1) bahwa pengarang memproduksi wacana ketunggalan Divergent melalui narasi factionless. Factionless merupakan Divergent yang terwujud dalam kebenaran politik. Ia berfungsi sebagai wacana kolonial dan menghasilkan kebaruan politik berupa factionless atau subjek tanpa faksi; (2) pengarang menghadirkan Divergent dalam wujud kebenaran sains berupa eugenika. Eugenika sebagai komodifikasi sains menjadi wacana rasisme. Eugenika juga ditransformasi menjadi saintisme. Akibatnya, eugenika berubah menjadi pseudosains karena kehilangan marwah kesaintifikannya; (3) pengarang menghadirkan Divergent melalui moda kebenaran cinta untuk mendekonstruksi wacana modernisme melalui narasi pembebasan Four dari belenggu pengaruh serum. Pembebasan itu disebabkan karena ikatan cinta yang terjalin antara Four dan Tris; (4) Divergent termanifestasi ke dalam kebenaran inestetik. Divergent menghadirkan narasi distopia mengenai kegagalan modernisme dalam mempertahankan kemapanannya, yaitu menciptakan keseimbangan hidup manusia dengan jalan sains; dan (5) pengarang menghadirkan wacan singularitas melalui subjek Divergent. Divergent adalah wacana ketunggalan yang menghubungkan antarkeempat prosedur kebenaran dalam teks novel trilogi Divergent.
This dissertation reveals Divergent as "Being" (the Singular) through the manifestation or form of four elements of "being" contained in the text of the Divergent trilogy novel. The four elements are politics, science, love, and aesthetics. This research uses Alain Badiou's philosophical theory by mapping four philosophical conditions: politics as the truth procedure, science as the truth procedure, love as the truth procedure, and arts (or literature) as the truth procedure. The analysis results found several things, namely (1) that the author produces the discourse of the Divergent singularity through the factionless narrative. Factionless id Divergent, which is manifested in political truth. It functions as a postcolonial discourse by challenging the faction narrative as a colonial discourse and producing political novelty in the form of factionless or the subject without factions; (2) the author presents Divergent in the form of scientific truth in the form of eugenics. Eugenics, as a commodification of science, becomes a discourse of racism. Eugenics is also transformed into scientism. As a result, eugenics turns into pseudoscience because it loses its scientific spirit; (3) the author presents Divergent through the mode of the truth of love to deconstruct the discourse of modernism through the narrative of Four's liberation from the shackles of serum influence. The love between Four and Tris leads to this liberation, and (4) Divergent manifests itself through inesthetic truth. Divergent presents a dystopian narrative about the failure of modernism in maintaining its stability, namely creating a balance in human life through science, and (5) the author presents the discourse of singularity that connects the four truth procedures in the text of the Divergent trilogy novels.
