This study aims to design an integrated vendor performance evaluation system at PT XYZ, a shipping company engaged in the transportation of energy commodities. The research identifies the main criteria and sub-criteria for vendor performance evaluation based on vendor classification and weights each criterion accordingly. Vendors are classified into four categories: bottleneck, strategic, leverage, and non-critical. The determination of the main criteria for each classification is conducted using score boundary verification with the Guttman scale, while sub-criteria are established using the cut-off method with the Likert scale. The weighting of main criteria and sub-criteria is performed using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) according to vendor classification.
The results indicate that for the bottleneck classification, the main criteria with the highest weights are Quality (26.09%) and Cost (22.91%), with the highest sub-criteria weights being Price (22.91%) and Compliance with Company Standards (9.21%). For the strategic classification, the main criteria with the highest weights are Quality (23.91%) and Cost (23.78%), where the highest sub-criteria weights are Price (8.50%) and Delivery Flexibility (8.23%). In the non-critical classification, the main criteria with the highest weights are Cost (35.51%) and Quality (30.46%), with the highest sub-criteria weights being Compliance with Company Standards (30.46%) and Price (24.38%). In the leverage classification, the main criteria with the highest weights are Cost (32.68%) and Quality (21.61%), with the highest sub-criteria weights being Price (21.63%) and Compliance with Company Standards (21.16%).
The system design utilizes various tools, such as Swimlane Diagrams to illustrate cross-divisional workflows, Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD) and Logical Record Structures (LRS) for database mapping, Unified Modeling Language (UML) to explain system-user interactions, and User Interface (UI) design for visualizing the system layout. The outcomes of this system design are recommended for integration with the company's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to enhance the accuracy of vendor performance evaluation based on the proposed scoring and levelling system.
