The media exerts both positive and negative influence on individuals, including children who are in search of role models. One area where negative or inadequate representation exists is among minoritized or marginalized groups, including people with disabilities, which may cause negative perceptions towards them. Meanwhile, positive perceptions can yield numerous benefits for both students with and without disabilities. This research aims to investigate how students perceive disability representation in social media and their peers with disabilities in inclusive elementary schools, and how these perceptions are interconnected. The data is collected through photo and video-elicitation interviews using photos and videos from social media. The results explain the students’ perceptions of disability in social media and school, the factors that influence their perceptions, their visions for the future, and their reflections on the lives of people with disabilities. Despite the different perceptions the students have towards disabilities, disability representations in social media mainly elicit positive responses from them.
