The Wonosobo Main Market underwent market building construction or market revitalization due to a fire incident in 2014. The revitalization brought about many changes the market, transforming it from a traditional market into a more modern one. The purpose of this research is (1) to determine the level of compliance of the Wonosobo Main Market buildings after revitalization with Badan Standardisasi Nasional (BSN) regulation No. 5 of 2023, (2) to assess the effectiveness of the revitalization of Wonosobo Main Market in terms of its impact on traders' income and buyers' satisfaction with the revitalization efforts, and (3) to provide development strategies that are appropriate to the existing conditions.
This research employs quantitative research methods with data analysis including both descriptive and inferential statistics. Data collection methods include observation, documentation, and closed questionnaires. The research was conducted by observing the conditions of Wonosobo Main Market; surveying 97 traders selected using proportionate stratified random sampling with the determination of the sample formula by Slovin's method; and surveying 60 buyers at the Wonosobo Main Market using quota sampling technique. The analysis used in this research includes document analysis, comparative descriptive analysis, descriptive statistical analysis with Wilcoxon test and RAL (Respondent Achievement Level), as well as SWOT.
The research conducted shows that the revitalization of Wonosobo Main Market has changed physical and non-physical aspects with compliance rates of general requirements at 100%; main technical requirements at 90%; supporting technical requirements at 68%; and management requirements at 75%. The market revitalization efforts fell short in providing an increase in traders' income due to a continuous decline in foot traffic and competition with online shops. Buyers' satisfaction rates with the physical condition of the building (PCB) were at 71%; facilities and infrastructure conditions (FIC) at 66%; and market management conditions (MMC) at 69%. Overall, buyers' satisfaction levels indicate a good or satisfactory condition. Development strategies implemented include prioritizing disability-friendly development, routine maintenance of existing facilities, regular merchandise inspections, and policy-making, among others.
