Cost Reduction Innovation Activity sebagai Bentuk Implementasi Kaizen Costing di Departemen International Human Resources PT Nusantara

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menyelesaikan persoalan budget error pada activity costing di departemen International Human Resources PT Nusantara. Dimana PT Nusantara merupakan perusahaan multinasional yang bergerak di industri Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sebagai penyedia produk makanan dan minuman terkemuka di Indonesia. Penelitian ini termasuk ke dalam kategori real case study, sehingga hasil penelitiannya akan diimplementasikan secara nyata di perusahaan.

Penulis memfokuskan penyelesaian persoalan dengan tajuk pengendalian dan kontrol yang dikaitkan dengan konsep kaizen costing bagi departemen utama yang terlibat, yaitu departemen International Human Resources dan departemen Finance Corporate Controller. Solusi yang muncul berupa ide atas pengadaan transformasi proses bisnis dari manual ke sistematis. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah data historis tahun berjalan perihal pengeluaran di departemen International Human Resources untuk dianalisis potensi cost reduction apabila pengendalian dan kontrol yang ketat berhasil diluncurkan melalui Service Level Agreement (SLA) sebagai aturan yang mengikat. 

Hasil yang diperoleh dari keseluruhan penyatuan seluruh komponen pendukung berupa aplikasi pintar yang dijuluki Nusantara Expat Ease (Internet of Things based Smart Tools). Apabila aplikasi NEE berhasil diluncurkan dengan menggandeng pengendalian dan kontrol yang kuat atas SLA serta didukung oleh manajemen level untuk beroperasi, maka cost reduction mampu diupayakan sebesar Rp 764.802.560 atau 48.34?ri seluruh pengeluaran yang terjadi pada bulan Januari hingga Oktober 2023.

This research was conducted to address budget errors in activity costing in the International Human Resources department of PT Nusantara. PT Nusantara is a multinational company operating in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry as a leading provider of food and beverage products in Indonesia. This research falls into the category of a real case study, meaning that its findings will be implemented concretely within the company.

The author focused on solving the issue through the lens of control and management linked to the concept of kaizen costing for the main departments involved, namely the International Human Resources department and the Finance Corporate Controller department. The solution proposed involves the idea of transforming manual business processes into systematic ones. The data used in the research consists of historical expenditure data from the current year in the International Human Resources department, which was analyzed to identify potential cost reductions if strict control and management were implemented through Service Level Agreements (SLAs) as binding rules.

The results obtained from integrating all supporting components culminated in a smart application dubbed Nusantara Expat Ease (Internet of Things based Smart Tools). If the NEE application is successfully launched with strong control and management over SLAs and supported by top-level management to operate, cost reduction efforts could reach Rp 764,802,560 or 48.34% of total expenditures incurred from January to October 2023.
