Evaluasi Pelaksanaan Konservasi Preventif Pada Lukisan Di Museum Taman Tino Sidin Yogyakarta

Konservasi preventif merupakan suatu hal yang sangat penting dalam konteks museum. Konsep ini merujuk pada langkah atau tindakan yang bertujuan untuk mengantisipasi serta mengurangi potensi kerusakan atau kehilangan pada koleksi. Tujuan utama konservasi preventif adalah untuk melindungi koleksi museum dari dampak negatif yang mungkin terjadi di masa depan, dengan upaya- upaya proaktif yang ditujukan untuk mencegah kerusakan atau kehilangan material. Konservasi preventif dapat diidentifikasi sebagai praktek yang bersifat tidak langsung terhadap benda-benda koleksi, dimana tidak ada modifikasi visual yang diterapkan pada tampilan koleksi. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menggali jawaban terhadap pertanyaan apakah upaya konservasi preventif yang diterapkan oleh Museum Taman Tino Sidin Yogyakarta efektif dalam mencegah kerusakan. Adapun tujuan penelitian identifikasi jenis dan tingkatan kerusakan, identifikasi agen penyebab kerusakan, serta evaluasi implementasi praktik konservasi preventif yang dilakukan.

Peneliti menerapkan metodologi deskriptif-analitis dan evaluatif dalam penelitian ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui metode observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Observasi bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi kondisi keterawatan lukisan, kondisi lingkungan, dan kegiatan konservasi preventif yang dilakukan. Wawancara digunakan sebagai metode untuk menghimpun informasi terkait praktik konservasi preventif di museum dan sejarah bangunan museum. Sementara itu, studi pustaka dijadikan sebagai landasan referensi untuk pembanding dengan kegiatan konservasi preventif yang dilakukan di museum tersebut. Analisis hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan konservasi preventif oleh Museum Taman Tino Sidin Yogyakarta masih belum memenuhi tingkat efektivitas sesuai dengan standar referensi yang dijadikan acuan. Sebagai hasil akhir dari penelitian ini, disusun sebuah saran untuk tindakan konservasi preventif di museum. 

Preventive conservation is very important in the context of museums. The concept refers to measures or actions that aim to anticipate and mitigate potential damage or loss to collections. The main goal of preventive conservation is to protect museum collections from negative impacts that may occur in the future, with proactive efforts aimed at preventing damage or loss of materials. Preventive conservation can be identified as a practice that is indirect to collection objects, where no visual modifications are applied to the appearance of the collection. The focus of this research is to explore the answer to the question of whether preventive conservation efforts implemented by Taman Tino Sidin Museum Yogyakarta are effective in preventing damage. The research aims to identify the types and levels of damage, identify the causative agents of damage, and evaluate the implementation of preventive conservation practices.

The researcher applied descriptive-analytical and evaluative methodologies in this research. Data were collected through observation, interview, and literature study. Observation aims to obtain information on the condition of painting maintenance, environmental conditions, and preventive conservation activities carried out. Interviews were used as a method to gather information related to preventive conservation practices in the museum and the history of the museum building. Meanwhile, the literature study was used as a reference base for comparison with the preventive conservation activities carried out in the museum. The analysis of the research results shows that the implementation of preventive conservation by Taman Tino Sidin Museum Yogyakarta still does not meet the level of effectiveness in accordance with the reference standard used as a reference. As the final result of this research, a suggestion for preventive conservation measures in the museum was made.
