The Switching Factors from Cash on Delivery to E-Wallet Methods in Indonesian Market

Seiring
perkembangan teknologi, masyarakat telah terbiasa melakukan transaksi jual beli
melalui platform online. Dalam bertransaksi secara online, banyak
dari masyarakat Indonesia yang memilih untuk menggunakan metode pembayaran cash on
delivery (COD) dimana pembayaran akan dilakukan setelah barang diterima
oleh pembeli.
Namun,
seiring berjalannya waktu, terdapat beberapa masalah yang ditimbulkan oleh
sistem pembayaran COD. Banyak kasus-kasus dimana transaksi melalui metode
pembayaran COD tidak berjalan mulus karena ketidakpahaman pembeli tentang
metode ini. Terlebih lagi, seiring perkembangan teknologi, pembayaran menggunakan
uang fisik semakin ditinggalkan. Oleh sebab itu, diperlukan sebuah substitusi
metode pembayaran yang dapat menggantikan metode pembayaran COD. Salah satu
alternatif yang dapat menggantikan metode pembayaran COD adalah e-wallet.
Karya
ilmiah ini akan menganalisa faktor-faktor apa saja yang dapat membuat
masyarakat beralih dari metode pembayaran cash on delivery menuju e-wallet
menggunakan framework Push-Pull-Mooring (PPM).
As
technology becoming more avanced, the society is getting used to transact via
online platform. In transacting online, most of the Indonesian people opt for
cash on delivery (COD) payment method, where the transaction happens after the
goods is in the buyer’s hand.
However,
as the time goes by, there are some problems occuring during the COD
transaction. There are a lot of cases where transaction using this method didn’t
go well due to the buyer’s lack of information regarding the payment method.
Moreover, as the technology advancing, transaction using physical cash is slowly
being left out. That’s why, a substitution is needed to replace the COD payment
method. One of the alternatives that can replace the COD payment method is
e-wallet.
This
scientific research will analyze what factors could affect people to switch from
cash on delivery payment method to e-wallet using the Push-Pull-Mooring (PPM)
framework.
