ANALISIS KEUNGGULAN BERSAING DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN PENDEKATAN RESOURCE BASED VIEW PADA INDUSTRI JASA LINGKUNGAN (STUDI KASUS PT X)

Selama
20 tahun terakhir, emisi karbon yang dilepaskan ke atmosfer semakin meningkat seiring
dengan meningkatnya kegiatan yang dilakukan, hingga pada tahun 2022 yang
sekaligus menjadi rekor tertinggi baru dalam 20 tahun terakhir. Fenomena ini
membuat pemerintah Indonesia mendorong akselerasi transisi menuju Net-Zero
Emission kepada perusahaan nasional dan multinasional yang beroperasi di
Indonesia untuk bersama mencapai rencana dan tujuan yang telah disusun. Upaya
ini dapat dibantu oleh instansi atau perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang jasa
lingkungan (Environmental Services) dengan konsentrasi di bidang jasa
lingkungan. PT X yang merupakan perusahaan yang bertujuan untuk
mewujudkan keseimbangan iklim dengan cara membantu aktivitas dekarbonisasi
dengan mengelola proyek pengurangan emisi
Dari
hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa sumber daya dan kapabilitas yang dapat
menjadi sumber keunggulan bersaing berkelanjutan terdiri atas keahlian terkait
karbon biru; Hak Kekayaan Intelektual (HAKI); tim legal dan pengelolaan proyek
karbon internal; kompetensi dalam memformulasikan metodologi; desain dan
verifikasi proyek karbon, pengelolaan proyek karbon; serta budaya kerja
kredibilitas dan resilien. Selain itu, sumber keunggulan bersaing terdiri atas
hubungan dengan pemerinta; kerja sama dengan pemangku kepentingan; Sistem
Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) untuk Pelanggan; sumber daya
manusia yang berkualitas; lahan potensial untuk proyek karbon; studi kelayakan
(feasibility study); restorasi lahan; perhitungan penyerapan emisi karbon.
Over the past 20 years, carbon emissions released into
the atmosphere have been increasing in tandem with growing activities, reaching
a new record high in 2022, marking the highest in the last two decades. This phenomenon
has prompted the Indonesian government to accelerate the transition towards net
zero emissions for both national and multinational companies operating in
Indonesia, aiming to collectively achieve the plans and goals set forth. These
efforts can be supported by institutions or companies specializing in
Environmental Services. PT X, a company dedicated to realizing climate balance
by aiding decarbonization activities through emissions reduction projects
management (Internal Company Data, n.d.), is driven by its ambition and the
government's encouragement. This propels PT X towards achieving the company's
long-term goals, such as restoring 8 million hectares of land by 2030,
expanding into Southeast Asia, and becoming a company generating 1 billion USD
annually for ecosystem services that restore and protect nature. To pursue
these long-term goals, it is crucial to conduct an internal analysis that
considers the resources and capabilities of the company. The approach used in
this analysis is the Resource-Based View (RBV), which is analyzed using the
value chain analysis framework and VRIO. Data collection was based on
interviews with four key informants holding significant positions in PT X,
utilizing a qualitative descriptive analysis approach and thematic analysis.
The research findings indicate that resources and
capabilities that can be a source of sustainable competitive advantage include
expertise related to blue carbon; Intellectual Property Rights (IPR); internal
legal team and carbon project management; competence in formulating
methodologies; design and verification of carbon projects; carbon project
management; and a working culture of credibility and resilience. Additionally,
competitive advantages include relationships with the government; collaboration
with stakeholders; Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) systems for
customers; high-quality human resources; potential land for carbon projects;
feasibility studies; land restoration; and carbon emission absorption
calculations.
