KONSEP IKIGAI DALAM FILM DOKUMENTER JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI

Penelitian ini mengulas makna dan penerapan konsep Ikigai dalam film dokumenter "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" karya David Gelb, berfokus pada tokoh utama, Jiro Ono. Pendekatan menggunakan teori Semiotika Roland Barthes serta teori Fungsionalisme Struktural AGIL Talcott Parsons untuk menganalisis makna dan aplikasi Ikigai dalam film tersebut. Metode deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui pemilihan adegan, analisis teks visual dan audio, serta transliterasi untuk analisis Semiotika. Hasilnya menunjukkan representasi kuat terkait pilar-pilar Ikigai dalam film, menyoroti nilai-nilai budaya Jepang dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Analisis terhadap Jiro Ono menunjukkan penerapan konsep Ikigai seperti Awali Dengan Hal Yang Kecil, Bebaskan Dirimu, Keselarasan dan Kesinambungan, Kegembiraan Dari Hal- Hal Kecil dan Hadir Di Tempat dan Waktu Sekarang. Penelitian ini juga merefleksikan elemen-elemen kunci Ikigai menggunakan teori Fungsionalisme Struktural AGIL Talcott Parsons. Hasil temuan menyatakan bahwa konsep Ikigai Ken Mogi memegang peranan sentral dalam film serta kehidupan Jiro Ono.

This research reviews the meaning and application of the concept of Ikigai in the documentary film "Jiro Dreams of Sushi" by David Gelb, focusing on the main character, Jiro Ono. The approach uses Roland Barthes' Semiotics theory as well as Talcott Parsons' AGIL Structural Functionalism theory to analyze the meaning and application of Ikigai in the film. The qualitative descriptive method was used with data collection techniques through scene selection, visual and audio text analysis, and transliteration for Semiotic analysis. The results show a strong representation of the pillars of Ikigai in the film, highlighting the values of Japanese culture in everyday life. The analysis of Jiro Ono shows the application of Ikigai concepts such as Starting Small, Releasing yourself, Harmony and sustainability, The Joy of Little Things, and Being In The Here and Now. This research also reflects on the pillars of Ikigai using Talcott Parsons' AGIL Structural Functionalism theory. The findings suggest that Ken Mogi's concept of Ikigai plays a central role in the film and Jiro Ono's life.
