The Dhoho International Airport Project is a National Strategic Project. An important factor in airport development is the apron, which is a crucial part of the infrastructure, especially on the airside. The objective of this research is to analyze the implementation method of commercial rigid pavement on the apron using the Wirtgen SP500 equipment at the Dhoho International Airport and consider the productivity during the execution of the rigid pavement work using the equipment Wirtgen SP500 at the Dhoho International Airport.
The research was conducted at the Dhoho International Airport, involving primary data collection through site surveys to understand the location's conditions and interview data aimed at identifying elements affecting the heavy equipment's efficiency. Secondary data, such as drawings and heavy equipment data, were used to determine the design and specifications of the heavy equipment for pavement execution.
The analysis revealed that the rigid pavement work on the Dhoho International Airport apron comprised two main stages: preparation and the concrete pavement casting work. Due to the pavement's thickness of 520 mm, the work was executed in two stages: an initial spread of 400 mm and a second layer of 120 mm applied and grooved using the Wirtgen SP500. The on-site heavy equipment productivity calculation indicated a slipform paver Wirtgen SP500 capacity of 102.5 m3/hour, while the capacity of three dump trucks amounted to 55.2 m3/hour. The slipform paver's capacity calculation was smaller than the planned capacity, indicating a discrepancy between field conditions and planning, resulting in an ineffective analysis of slipform paver equipment productivity.
