Membaca Kekerasan Seksual: Identifikasi Diri Pembaca Perempuan terhadap Komik Homoerotika Melalui Perspektif Psikoanalisis Lacanian

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kepembacaan perempuan heteroseksual terhadap yaoi. Dua rumusan masalah yang dibahas di penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut; bagaimana para pembaca perempuan (fuj?shi) memaknai adegan kekerasan seksual di dalam cerita dan bagaimana fantasi terhadap kekerasan seksual muncul. Kemudian bagaimana para informan mengidentifikasi diri mereka melalui karakter maupun alur cerita. Penelitian ini berfokus pada tiga perempuan yang membaca tiga judul yaoi; Painter of the Night, Killing Stalking, dan The Warehouse. Metode yang digunakan untuk kajian ini adalah etnografi baru di mana peneliti merupakan bagian dari instrumen yang menginterpretasi fenomena di lingkungannya. Melalui perspektif psikoanalisis Lacanian, penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana lain (the Other) berperan terhadap lack, desire, serta pembentukan fantasi seksual para pembaca.

Kajian ini menunjukan bahwa terdapat paradoks dalam pemaknaan fantasi kekerasan seksual terhadap yaoi. Di satu sisi, yaoi merupakan antitesis terhadap karya-karya cerita cinta heteronormatif, di mana peran perempuan dikonstruksikan melalui pernikahan dan keluarga. Namun, yaoi tetap menggunakan kerangka yang heteronormatif, dengan penokohan yang formulaik terhadap dua karakter utama melalui konstruksi seme dan uke. Kepenulisan dan kepembacaan terhadap yaoi masih digerakan oleh lain. Hal ini agar para pembaca perempuan heteroseksual dapat mengidentifikasi diri mereka, baik secara seksual maupun emosional, terhadap karakter dan cerita. Identifikasi para pembaca perempuan heteroseksual terhadap yaoi juga melibatkan dinamika lack dan desire yang diregulasi oleh Lain. Terdapat pengkategorian hasrat terhadap proses identifikasi para informan terhadap karakter maupun alur cerita, yaitu hasrat ingin memiliki atau menjadi lain.

This research aims to examine the readership of heterosexual women towards yaoi. The research addresses two questions as follows: how female readers (fujcshi) interpret sexual violence within the stories and how fantasies of sexual violence emerge. In addition, how the informants identify themselves through characters and plot. This study focuses on three women who read three yaoi titles: "Painter of the Night," "Killing Stalking," and "The Warehouse." The method used for this study is new ethnography in which the researcher is the interpreter of phenomena in their environment. Through a Lacanian psychoanalytic perspective, this research analyzes how the Other plays a role in lack, desire, and the formation of sexual fantasies for readers.
This study demonstrates a paradox in the interpretation of sexual violence fantasies in yaoi. Principally, yaoi represents an antithesis to heteronormative love story narratives, where women's roles are constructed through marriage and family. However, yaoi still employs a heteronormative framework, with formulaic characterization of the two main characters through the construction of seme and uke. This is because heterosexual female readers can identify themselves, both sexually and emotionally, through the characters and the story. The identification of heterosexual female readers with yaoi also involves the dynamics of lack and desire regulated by the Other. There is a categorization of desire in the informants' process of identifying with the characters and the plot, namely, the desire to possess or become the Other.
