Proyek akhir ini membahas
tentang pelaksanaan preservasi negatif film Arsip Konservasi Borobudur di Balai
Konservasi Borobudur seperti kondisi negatif film, kegiatan preservasi negatif
film, sarana dan prasarana preservasi negatif film, serta faktor pendukung dan
penghambat kegiatan preservasi negatif film. Arsip Konservasi Borobudur
merupakan dokumentasi proyek pemugaran Candi Borobudur ke-2 (1973-1983) yang
berstatus Memory of The World. Negatif film merupakan arsip audio visual
dengan lapisan dasar asetat yang rentan terhadap kerusakan karena terbentuk
dari material organik. Preservasi merupakan bentuk pelestarian negatif film
yang telah dilakukan oleh Balai Konservasi Borobudur melalui tindakan preventif
dan kuratif.
Metode penelitian yang
digunakan adalah observasi partisipasi, studi pustaka, dan wawancara. Melalui
observasi partisipatif, penulis terllibat langsung dalam pelaksanaan preservasi
negatif film. Studi pustaka yaitu pengumpulan data berupa skripsi, tesis,
jurnal elektronik (e-journal) internasional dan nasional, artikel,
laporan, dan buku. Wawancara dilakukan dengan narasumber yaitu pengelola arsip
MoW di BKB.
Balai Konservasi
Borobudur telah melakukan preservasi negatif film meliputi perencanaan
preservasi arsip negatif film, penyimpanan arsip negatif film, pemeliharaan
ruang arsip MoW, alih media arsip negatif film sebagai tindakan preventif.
Pembersihan kering negatif film dan perbaikan kerusakan negatif film. Namun
upaya yang telah dilakukan Balai Konservasi Borobudur belum berjalan dengan optimal
karena terkendala oleh SDM, sarana dan prasarana, SOP pelaksanaan preservasi.
Sedangkan faktor pendukung yang dapat dimaksimalkan yaitu anggaran dana dan
mitra berbagai instansi ahli.

This
final project discusses the implementation of film negative preservation at
Borobudur Conservation Archive at Borobudur Conservation Office such as film
negative conditions, film negative preservation activities, film negative
preservation facilities, and infrastructure, as well as supporting and
inhibiting factors of film negative preservation activities. The Borobudur
Conservation Archive is a documentation of the 2nd Borobudur Temple restoration
project (1973-1983) which has the status of Memory of the World. Film negatives
are audio-visual archives with an acetate base layer that are vulnerable to
damage because they are formed from organic materials. Preservation is a form
of film negative preservation that has been carried out by the Borobudur
Conservation Office through preventive and curative actions. The
research methods used are participatory observation, literature study, and
interviews. Through participatory observation, the author is directly involved
in the implementation of film negative preservation. Literature study is data
collection in the form of theses, theses, international and national
e-journals, articles, reports, and books. Interviews were conducted with
resource persons, namely the MoW archive manager at BKB. The
Borobudur Conservation Office has carried out the preservation of film
negatives including planning the preservation of film negative archives,
storing film negative archives, maintaining the MoW archive room, and
transferring film negative archives as a preventive measure. Dry cleaning of
film negatives and repairing damage to film negatives. However, the efforts
made by the Borobudur Conservation Office have not run optimally because they
are constrained by human resources, facilities and infrastructure, and SOPs for
preservation implementation. The supporting factors that can be maximized are
