Gambaran Kehidupan Pernikahan Male Escort dalam Novel Cliente (2004) Karya Josiane Balasko

Di antara para pekerja prostitusi laki-laki (male escort), terdapat di antaranya yang sudah menikah dan memiliki keluarganya masing-masing. Sejalan dengan fakta yang ada di masyarakat, terdapat juga karya sastra yang mengangkat topik kehidupan pernikahan male escort. Novel Cliente (2004) karya Josiane Balasko merupakan karya sastra yang mengangkat topik tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengungkap gambaran kehidupan pernikahan male escort melalui analisis hubungan male escort dengan pasangannya dan tanggapan pasangan terhadap male escort. Melalui teori tindakan sosial Max Weber (1978), Marco, karakter utama pria dalam novel Cliente (2004) sebagai male escort yang sudah menikah, teridentifikasi melakukan beberapa bentuk tindakan rasional instrumental, tindakan rasional nilai, dan tindakan afektif terhadap pasangannya. Sedangkan untuk Fanny, tokoh utama wanita yang merupakan istri dari Marco, ia menanggapi male escort dengan beberapa bentuk tindakan rasional instrumental dan tindakan afektif.

Among male escorts, some are married and have families of their own. In line with the facts in society, there are also literary works that raise the topic of male escort married life. The novel Cliente (2004) by Josiane Balasko is a literary work that raises the topic. The purpose of this study is to reveal the portrayal of the married life of male escorts through analyzing the relationship between male escorts and their spouses and the spouses' responses to male escorts. Through Max Weber's social action theory (1978), Marco, the male main character in the novel Cliente (2004) as a married male escort, is identified as performing several forms of instrumental rational action, value rational action, and affective action towards his wife. As for Fanny, the main female character who is Marco's wife, she responds to male escorts with several forms of instrumental rational actions and affective actions.
