Indonesia is one of the countries that has a high level of risk of natural disasters in the world. The area that is often associated with flooding is the State Capital of Indonesia, namely DKI Jakarta. Based on information from the Head of the DKI BPBD Disaster Data and Information Center (Pusdatin), a total of 17 sub-districts, 25 sub-districts and 86 RWs in DKI Jakarta are detected as flood-prone areas when it rains with high intensity. One of the areas mentioned is the Rawa Buaya Village, which is located in Cengkareng District, which is the result of the rising water level of the Mookervart River.
Not only did it flood the access road, floods as high as 40 to 50 cm also flooded residents' houses, so that the activities of residents in the area of their houses were also disrupted. To overcome the conditions during the flood disaster that disrupted residents' activities, a solution was needed as an ef ort to improve the quality of life of the community and the environment in Rawa Buaya Village, especially in the function of residential houses. Amphibious houses planning can create a disaster-resistant house that can stand in dry and wet conditions. With the amphibious houses, it is hoped that residents can still do their activities inside the house.
In principle, an amphibious houses is a stilt house that is raised from the ground and supported by a foundation when conditions are dry. However, when a flood occurs, the house will be pushed up by the mooring poles and follow the water level, so that later the house will not be submerged or inundated by flood waters. In designing an amphibious houses, several things need to be considered, including new systems on the architectural side. Some of these things include structural and construction systems, moorings, to utility and service systems that need to be applied to amphibious houses.
In addition, the design also pays attention to the social and economic aspects of the community around Rawa Buaya which is reflected in the typology of residential plus buildings. This is in accordance with the concept raised as an approach in this Pre-Final Project work, which is multifunctional. Multifunction is believed to be the basis for compiling a space program that can integrate the functions of the residence in Rawa Buaya with the daily socio-economic functions of the community. Design with this approach can also provide integrated public spaces as community facilities in Rawa Buaya.
