Kajian Ekranisasi Light Novel Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai Karangan Sumino Yoru ke dalam Film Animasi Karya Ushijima Shinichirou

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan transformasi-transformasi yang terjadi pada ekranisasi tema dan fakta cerita light novel Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai ke dalam film animasi dan fungsi transformasi-transformasi tersebut. Untuk menjelaskan transformasi-transformasi tersebut, peneliti akan terlebih dahulu menjabarkan tema dan fakta cerita yang ada di light novel dan film animasi. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori ekranisasi Pamusuk Eneste dan teori fiksi Robert Stanton. Light novel dan film animasi Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai menceritakan proses penemuan jati diri yang dimiliki karakter utama, Shiga Haruki, dan hubungannya dengan teman kelasnya, Yamauchi Sakura. Beberapa fakta cerita seperti alur, latar, dan tokoh digambarkan oleh penulis light novel maupun oleh sutradara film animasi untuk menyampaikan tema cerita tersebut. Terjadi beberapa transformasi pada ekranisasi tema dan fakta cerita light novel Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai ke dalam film animasi. Transformasi yang terjadi berupa penciutan, penambahan, dan perubahan bervariasi. Faktor utama terjadinya transformasi tersebut adalah perbedaan media penyajian cerita dan perbedaan pandangan antara penulis light novel dan sutradara film animasi. Fungsi transformasi yang terjadi utamanya adalah untuk mempersingkat durasi film dan menekankan tema mayor yang ada pada film animasi. Selain itu, beberapa transformasi juga berfungsi untuk membuat film animasi menjadi tidak terlalu kontroversial; menonjolkan media penyampaian cerita audio-visual pada film animasi; membuat bobot cerita menjadi lebih ringan; membuat tempo cerita menjadi lebih cepat; dan menonjolkan daya tarik utama cerita menurut sutradara film animasi. Seluruh transformasi yang terjadi menyebabkan rasa ketidak-puasan pada penulis light novel sehingga akhirnya mempengaruhi pendapat audiens terhadap film animasi tersebut.

The purpose of this research is to explain the ecranisation on themes and story facts of Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai light novel to animated film and analyze the function of these transformations. To analyze these transformations, researcher will first describe the themes and story facts in the light novel and animated film. Theories used in this research are Pamusuk Eneste's theory of ecranisation and Robert Stanton's theory of fiction. The story of Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai tells the process of self-discovery of the main character, Shiga Haruki, and his relationship with his classmate, Yamauchi Sakura. Some story facts, such as plot, settings, and characters, are depicted by the light novel author and the animated movie director to convey the themes of the story. There are some transformations that happened in the ecranisation of Kimi no Suizou wo Tabetai light novel into animated film. These transformations occured in the story's themes and facts. The main factors of these transformations are differences in the story presentation media between light novel and animation film; and differing views between the light novel writer and the animated film director. The main functions of these transformations are to shorten the duration of the film and emphasize the major themes in the animated film. Additionally, some transformations also serve to make the animated film less controversial; accentuate the audio-visual storytelling media in the animated film; make the weight of the story lighter; make the tempo of the story faster; and highlight the main appeal of the story according to the director of the animated film. These transformations caused a sense of dissatisfaction in the author of the light novel, which ultimately affected the audience's opinion of the animated film.
