Upaya Youth Development Pemuda Mrican dalam Mengikis Stigma Negatif: Sanggrahan melalui Bendhung Lepen Yogyakarta

Kampung Mrican yang dulunya dikenal sebagai "Lokalisasi Sanggrahan" merupakan salah satu bukti nyata dari kebangkitan masyarakat atas stigma negatif yang melekat selama ini. Seiring dengan kemajuan pembangunan kota dan meningkatnya moralitas di masyarakat, Lokalisasi Sanggrahan yang awalnya diresmikan pada tahun 1975 harus menghentikan operasinya pada tahun 1997. Memasuki masa transformasi, beberapa pihak eksternal membantu masyarakat Mrican untuk mewujudkan Kampung Mrican bebas prostitusi. Seiring berjalannya waktu, kegiatan prostitusi dapat dihentikan secara tuntas. Namun disisi lain, Kampung Mrican masih memiliki stigma negatif akan lingkungan yang kumuh. Berkat inisiatif dan kreativitas pemuda Mrican, saluran irigasi yang awalnya digunakan untuk saluran pembuangan akhir dapat dialihfungsikan sebagai tempat budidaya ikan. Keberhasilan pemuda tersebut membuat kampungnya dikenal oleh masyarakat luas dengan sebutan destinasi wisata Bendhung Lepen. Dalam proses terbentuknya Bendhung Lepen, pemuda Mrican telah menunjukkan adanya perkembangan pemuda yang dinamis serta pembangunan aset yang positif atau dikenal sebagai positive youth development. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya youth development pemuda Mrican dalam rangka menghapus stigma negatif Kampung Mrican. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan mengaplikasikan metode before-after pada kondisi Kampung Mrican. Subjek penelitian ini berasal dari beberapa stakeholders destinasi wisata Bendhung Lepen, sumber data yang digunakan berupa dokumentasi dan wawancara secara mendalam. Aspek yang digunakan dalam menganalisis upaya youth development terdiri atas fungsi positive youth development, esensi utama positive youth development dan hambatan positive youth development. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemuda Mrican telah melakukan seluruh fungsi positive youth development dengan baik, hanya saja masih perlu meningkatkan fungsi positive relationship karena inklusivitas masih terbatas dalam lingkup internal. Elemen utama positive youth development yang terdiri atas belonging, generosity, independence, dan mastery sudah diimplementasikan dengan baik. Meski begitu, upaya youth development pemuda Mrican mengalami hambatan pada akses komunikasi (access), pendanaan (funding) dan koordinasi dengan penyelenggara pemuda (coordination with other youth services).

Mrican Village, which was once known as "Sanggrahan Localization", is one of the clear evidences of the community's revival of the negative stigma attached so far. Along with the progress of urban development and the increase in morality in the community, the Sanggrahan Localization which was originally inaugurated in 1975 had to stop its operations in 1997. Entering the transformation period, several external parties helped the Mrican community to realize a prostitution-free Mrican Village. Over time, prostitution activities can be completely stopped. But on the other hand, Mrican Village still has a negative stigma of a shabby environment. Due to the initiative and creativity of the Mrican youth, the irrigation canal that was originally used for the final sewer can be converted into a fish farming site. The success of this young man made his village known by the wider community as Bendhung Lepen tourist destination. In the process of forming Bendhung Lepen, Mrican youth have shown the existence of dynamic youth development and positive asset development or known as positive youth development. This study aims to determine the youth development efforts of Mrican youth in order to remove the negative stigma of Mrican Village. The research method used is qualitative by applying the before-after method to the condition of Mrican Village. The subjects of this study came from several stakeholders of the Bendhung Lepen tourist destination, the source of data used was in the form of documentation and in-depth interviews. The aspects used in analyzing youth development efforts consist of the function of positive youth development, the main essence of positive youth development and the barriers to positive youth development. The results showed that Mrican youth have performed all positive youth development functions well, it's just that it still needs to improve the function of positive relationships because inclusivity is still limited in the internal sphere. The main elements of positive youth development consisting of belonging, generosity, independence, and mastery have been well implemented. Even so, Mrican's youth development efforts have experienced obstacles to access, funding and coordination with other youth services.
