Kespesifikan Multialur dalam Novel Gentayangan: Pilih Sendiri Petualangan Sepatu Merahmu Karya Intan Paramadhita

Penelitian ini menggunakan novel Gentayangan: Pilih Sendiri Petualangan Sepatu Merahmu karya Intan Paramadhita sebagai objek material dan teori struktur novel, khususnya yang berfokus pada alur, sebagai objek formal. Penelitian ini menjawab empat permasalan. Pertama, rangkaian peristiwa dan episode dalam novel Gentayangan. Kedua, tahapan alur dalam novel Gentayangan. Ketiga, proses penciptaan multialur, penggunaan multialur, subalur, suspense, dan surprise dalam novel Gentayangan. Keempat, hubungan antarunsur alur, hubungan antarunsur novel, serta fungsi, efek dan tujuan multialur dalam novel Gentayangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis untuk mendeskripsikan rangkaian peristiwa dan episode dan menganalisis hubungan kausalitasnya, mendeskripsikan rangkaian multialur dan menganalisis tahapan alur pada tiap-tiap alur, mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis penggunaan multialur, subalur, suspense, dan surprise, serta mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis hubungan antarunsur alur dan antarunsur novel dalam novel Gentayangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa novel Gentayangan memiliki 198 peristiwa dan 61 episode yang saling berkausalitas. Kausalitas antarperistiwa ditonjolkan melalui teknik "pilih sendiri petualanganmu" yang menekankan bahwa peristiwa kecil di masa kini menyebabkan peristiwa besar di masa depan. Novel Gentayangan memiliki lima belas alur yang masing-masingnya memiliki tahapan alur yang berbeda. Tiap alur merepresentasikan satu garis kehidupan tokoh Kau dan multialur merepresentasikan eksistensi dunia paralel dalam novel. Penggunaan multialur dalam novel Gentayangan memunculkan fenomena cerita unik dan menegangkan yang tidak dapat ditemukan dalam cerita berjenis alur lain. Suspense dalam novel ini terdiri atas foreshadowing dan penghilangan peristiwa yang berfungsi untuk menjaga ketegangan dalam cerita sehingga cerita tidak membosankan. Terdapat surprise berupa peristiwa yang berkaitan dengan unsur supernatural yang berfungsi untuk membelokkan asumsi pembaca terhadap alur dan menciptakan surprise ending. Novel Gentayangan juga memiliki 11 subalur dalam bentuk naratif bingkai yang berfungsi untuk mendukung alur utama. Adanya kesatupaduan dalam novel Gentayangan yang dapat dilihat dari hubungan antarunsur alur dan antarunsur novel membuat novel ini dapat menyampaikan isi, gagasan, dan maknanya.

This study uses Gentayangan: Pilih Sendiri Petualangan Sepatu Merahmu novel by Intan Paramadhita as the material object, and the theory of novel structure, especially the one that focuses on the plot, as the formal object. This study answers four cases. First, the series of events and episodes in the Gentayangan novel. Second, the plot stages in the Gentayangan novel. Third, multi-plot creation process, the use of multi-plot, sub-plot, suspense, and surprise in the Gentayangan novel. Fourth, the relation between plot elements, the relation between novel elements, as well as functions, effects, dan objectives of multi-plot in the Gentayangan novel. This study used descriptive analysis to describe the series of events and episode, as well as to analyse its casual relation, to illustrate its multi-plot events, and to analyse the plot stages on each plot, to describe and analyse the use of multi-plot, sub-plot, suspense, and surprise, also to describe and analyse the relation between plot elements and novel elements in the Gentayangan novel. The results of the study showed that the Gentayangan novel has 198 events and 61 episodes which are mutually causal. The causality between the events was highlighted through the events was highlighted through the "pick your own adventure" technique which emphasised that small events in the present lead to big events in the future. The Gentayangan novel has fifteen plots, each of which has a different plot stage. Each plot represents one line of Kau character's life and the multiple plots represent the existence of parallel worlds in the novel. The use of multiple plots in the novel Gentayangan gave rise to a unique and suspenseful story phenomenon which could not be found in other types of storylines. Suspense in this novel consists of foreshadowing and omission of the events which served to maintain the tension in the story so that the story would not be boring. There were surprises in the form of events related to supernatural elements that functioned to deflect the readers' assumptions regarding the plot and created a surprise ending. Gentayangan novel also has 11 sub-plots in the form of a narrative frame that functioned to support the main plot. The existence of unity in the novel Gentayangan which could be seen from the relation between plot elements and novel elements made this novel able to convey its contents, ideas, and meanings.
