PELAKSANAAN PENDIDIKAN PROFESI DOKTER PADA ERA PANDEMI COVID-19

Latar belakang. Sebagai pandemi global, COVID-19 menyebabkan perubahan signifikan termasuk dalam konteks implementasi pendidikan profesi dokter. Mahasiswa program profesi dokter maupun pembimbing klinik diperhadapkan dengan berbagai penyesuaian yang menjadi suatu dilemma. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pengalaman mahasiswa program profesi dokter dan pembimbing klinik terhadap implementasi pendidikan profesi selama masa pandemi COVID-19. Metode Penelitian. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik sampling purposive. Informan diwawancarai hingga tercapainya saturasi data, dilanjutkan dengan proses analisis menggunakan analisis tematik. Hasil. Terdapat tujuh tema yang teridentifikasi, meliputi kesempatan dan keterlibatan belajar, interaksi dengan pasien selama rotasi klinis, komunikasi dan interaksi dengan kolega maupun supervisor, manajemen fasilitas dan individu, proses supervisi, kesadaran dan kepercayaan diri, serta evaluasi dan penilaian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan beberapa perubahan dalam pelaksanaan pendidikan profesi dokter selama pandemi COVID-19 dibandingkan sebelum pandemi COVID-19. Kesimpulan. Beberapa perubahan nyata dalam pelaksanaan pendidikan profesi dokter selama pandemi COVID-19 dibandingkan sebelum pandemi dengan mengacu pada pengalaman mahasiswa program profesi dokter dan pembimbing klinis. Hal tersebut terkait dengan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pelaksanaan pendidikan profesi dokter di masa pandemi COVID-19.

Introduction. As a global pandemic, COVID-19 has caused significant changes, including in the context of implementing clinical education. Medical students and clinical supervisors face various adjustments that become a dilemma. This study aims to explore the experiences of medical students and clinical supervisors towards implementation of clinical education in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods. Using a qualitative approach, this study was conducted with purposive sampling technique. Informant interviews were arranged until data saturation was achieved, followed by an analysis process using thematic analysis. Results. There are seven themes were identified, including learning opportunities and engagement, interaction with patients, communication and interaction with colleagues and supervisors, facility and individual management, supervision process, awareness and confidence, and evaluation and assessment on clinical rotation. The results of this study indicate several changes in the implementation of clinical education during the COVID-19 pandemic compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic. Conclusion. Several noticeable changes in the implementation of clinical education during the COVID-19 pandemic compared to before the pandemic by referring to the experiences of medical students and clinical supervisors. It is related to the factors that influence the implementation of clinical education during the COVID-19 pandemic.
