Pengelolaan persediaan bahan baku yang optimal dapat meningkatkan kinerja dari kegiatan produksi sehingga proses operasional berjalan secara efisien. PT XYZ merupakan salah satu perusahaan yang bergerak dalam industri garmen di Indonesia. Pada proses operasionalnya, pengelolaan persediaan bahan baku belum dikelola dengan baik sehingga perusahaan mengeluarkan biaya persediaan yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persediaan bahan baku dengan menggunakan pendekatan metode Material Requirement Planning (MRP). Penelitian ini menggunakan batasan penelitian yakni data persediaan dari Januari 2018 hingga Oktober 2022 dan komponen objek penelitian adalah komponen yang berada pada level-1. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu metode diagram fishbone, peramalan (forecasting), menghitung kesalahan peramalan, melakukan perhitungan MRP yang dikombinasi dengan model lot sizing, kemudian membandingkan total biaya persediaan aktual dengan sistem MRP. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perencanaan persediaan bahan baku dapat meminimalisir biaya dengan selisih biaya antara biaya persediaan aktual dengan sistem MRP mencapai Rp 362.892.244 per tahun atau 46,49% lebih hemat dari aktual.

Optimal management of raw material inventory can improve the performance of production activities so that operational processes run efficiently. PT XYZ is one of the companies engaged in the garment industry in Indonesia. In the operational process, the management of raw material inventory has not been managed properly so that the company incurs high inventory costs. The purpose of this study is to analyze the inventory of raw materials using the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method approach. This study uses research limitations, namely inventory data from January 2018 to October 2022 and the component of the object of research is the component that is at level-1. The methods used in this research is the fishbone diagram method, forecasting, MRP combined with the lot sizing model, then comparing the total actual inventory cost with the MRP system. The results of this study indicate that raw material inventory planning can minimize costs with the cost difference between the actual inventory costs and the MRP system reaching Rp 362.892.244 per year or 46.49% more efficient than actual.
