Skripsi ini membahas mengenai survival strategy anak penyandang disabilitas di dalam novel Le Quatrieme Automne karya Yan-Eric de Fraysinette. Berdasarkan permasalahan yang diangkat, penelitian ini menggunakan konsep teori Survival Strategy habitus dan arena oleh Pierre Fellix Bourdieu. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi proses-proses survival strategy terhadap struktur masyarakat yang masih melakukan diskriminasi terhadap kelompok disabilitas. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif Hasil penelitian menjunjukkan bahwa anak penyandang disabilitas (gagap bicara) dapat melewati survival strategy dan sembuh dari rasa inferior yang ia rasakan selama hampir dalam hidupnya. Dapat disimpulkan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah eksistensi Julien sebagai anak penyandang disabilitas tidak diakui keberadaannya di lingkungan sosial sehingga emicunya untuk melakukan survival strategy.

This study discusses the survival strategy of children with disabilities in the novel Le Quatrieme Automne by Yan-Eric de Fraysinette. Based on the problems raised, this research uses the concept of the Survival Strategy theory of habitus and arena by Pierre Fellix Bourdieu. The purpose of this study is to explore the processes of survival strategy against the structure of society that still discriminate against groups of people with disabilities. . The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The results of the study show that children with disabilities (stuttering speech) can go through a survival strategy and recover from the feeling of inferiority they have felt for most of their lives. It can be concluded from the results of this study that the existence of Julien as a child with a disability is not recognized in the social environment so that the trigger is to carry out a survival strategy.
