Hubungan antara Manajemen Komunikasi Agile dan Kinerja Proyek pada Perusahaan Rintisan di Indonesia

Perkembangan perusahaan rintisan di Indonesia berkontribusi dalam kenaikan ekonomi internet dan perkembangan industri digital di Indonesia. Peluang persaingan perusahaan rintisan Indonesia terbuka hingga di pasar Asia Tenggara. Sebelum masa kritis pandemi, perusahaan rintisan sudah rentan terhadap kegagalan selama masa pertumbuhan perusahaan dalam bersaing di pasar digital. Terdapat klaim yang menyatakan penerapan Agile Project Management (APM) meningkatkan kestabilan kinerja di perusahaan. Metodologi APM dapat meningkatkan proses komunikasi antar tim proyek. Dengan fenomena pandemi yang terjadi beberapa tahun terakhir, perusahaan berbasis proyek perlu beradaptasi terhadap pola kerja hybrid dan tim terdistribusi yang menjadi tantangan selama proses penyelesaian proyek. Sebuah klaim menyatakan tantangan terbesar pola tim terdistribusi merupakan komunikasi. Oleh karena itu, komunikasi pada APM diduga menjadi tantangan dalam peningkatan kinerja perusahaan rintisan di tengah proses pertumbuhan perusahaan. Penelitian dengan topik hubungan antara manajemen komunikasi agile dan kinerja perusahaan rintisan ini merupakan kelanjutan dari penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya, dengan memperdalam topik di hubungan mediasi dalam konsep komunikasi proyek. Proses pengambilan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen berupa kuesioner yang bersifat cross-sectional dengan metode purposive sampling. Responden dari penelitian ini adalah 58 orang praktisi perusahaan rintisan di Indonesia dari tingkat managerial hingga C-level dengan rasio respon sebesar 28,7%. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis statistik berbasis Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) pada aplikasi SmartPLS. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pada Higher-Order-Component (HOC) dari Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) ditemukan hubungan yang signifikan pada dua hubungan langsung yaitu hubungan antara tingkat implementasi APM dan kinerja manajemen komunikasi, dan hubungan antara tingkat implementasi APM dan kinerja perusahaan rintisan. Ditemukan juga bahwa hubungan tingkat implementasi APM, mediasi kinerja kinerja manajemen komunikasi, dan tahapan pertumbuhan perusahaan rintisan tidak berpengaruh signifikan pada model HOC.

The development of Indonesian startup companies contributes to the increase of the internet economy and the growth of the digital industry in Indonesia. Indonesian startup companies are open to the Southeast Asian digital market. Since the critical period of the pandemic, startup companies were vulnarable during the development period. There is a claim reported that the use of Agile Project Management (APM) improves performance and stability in the company. The APM methodologies improve communication process between project teams. During the pandemic, project-based companies are expected to adapt into hybrid work patterns and distributed teams which can be a challenge for projects. There are several research which stated that communication on APM is considered a challenge in order to improve the performance of startups during the development process. The research examines the relationship between agile communication management and startup performance which is a continuation of the previous studies by deepening its topic by introducing mediation analysis in the concept of project communication. The data collection process used a cross-sectional questionnaire for the instrument with the purposive sampling method. The respondents of this study were from 58 practitioners of startup companies in Indonesia that vary from managerial positions to C-level with a response rate of 28.7%. The study use Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) for the statistical analysis on SmartPLS. The results found that the Higher-Order-Component of Structural Equation Modeling show the significant relationship for two direct relationships that are the implementation level of APM and the performance of communication management, and the implementation level of APM and the performance of startup company. It was also found that the relationship between the implementation level of APM and the development stage of startup company with mediation from the performance of communication management did not have a significant effect on the HOC model.
