Evaluasi Usability Website UGM dengan Metode Performance Measurement, System Usability Scale, dan Thinking Aloud Protocol

Perkembangan teknologi memegang peran penting saat ini. Jaringan yang ada dimanfaatkan untuk menyediakan informasi yang dapat meningkatkan visibilitas di mata dunia. Hal tersebut dilakukan oleh UGM sebagai institusi pendidikan dengan pembuatan portal informasi utama yang dapat dilihat oleh masyarakat umum dengan laman ugm.ac.id. Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengetahui tingkat usabilitas Website UGM berdasarkan indikator efektivitas, efisiensi, dan kepuasan, mengetahui permasalahan usabilitas Website UGM jika penggunanya merupakan masyarakat umum yang belum pernah mengakses Website UGM berdasarkan indikator yang dievaluasi, serta memberikan rekomendasi perbaikan terhadap Website UGM. Objek penelitian ini adalah website utama UGM yang dapat diakses pada ugm.ac.id. Website UGM merupakan portal informasi utama yang dimiliki UGM untuk menghubungkan UGM dengan stakeholder. Partisipan yang mengikuti uji usabilitas ini yaitu masyarakat umum pengguna internet aktif berusia 17-24 tahun. Masyarakat umum didefinisikan sebagai pihak eksternal UGM yang memiliki kemungkinan membuka Website UGM untuk keperluan tertentu. Jumlah data partisipan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu 2 pelajar, 5 mahasiswa, dan 5 karyawan. Uji usabilitas dilakukan dengan metode performance measurement, System Usability Scale (SUS), dan thinking aloud protocol Ditemukan 8 permasalahan utama usabilitas Website UGM, yaitu tidak ada informasi mengenai konten pada menu sehingga harus dicoba satu-persatu, informasi yang tertera kurang lengkap, informasi tidak disampaikan dengan konsisten, pilihan menu mengarahkan ke website lain sehingga pengguna tersesat, tata letak mengharuskan scroll sampai bawah untuk mendapat informasi, informasi tidak dikelompokkan dengan teratur, pilihan menu menggunakan kata yang kurang familiar, pilihan menu mengarahkan ke halaman yang tidak sesuai. Dari hasil penelitian, diperoleh tingkat usabilitas berdasarkan indikator nilai efektivitas sebesar 0,70, efisiensi sebesar 116,96 sekon, dan kepuasan sebesar 34,79 (grade F). Analisis menunjukkan bahwa diperlukan adanya perbaikan terhadap Website UGM. Rekomendasi yang dihasilkan meliputi melakukan pengecekan dan update konten informasi serta format penyampaiannya pada Website UGM, menerapkan fitur pop-up navigation pada pilihan menu, menambahkan informasi mengenai list of content pada halaman isi menu utama, menerapkan konsep open link in new tab apabila pilihan menu mengarahkan ke website lain, dan melakukan review pada pemilihan kata untuk menu.

Technology development plays an important role in society nowadays. Existing networks are used to provide information that can increase visibility to the world. UGM as an educational institution has been following the trend by making main website as the information portal that can be accessed by the general public. This study aims to determine the usability level of the UGM Website based on effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction indicators, find out the usability problems of the UGM Website if the users are the public who have never accessed the UGM Website based on the evaluated indicators, and provide recommendations for improvements of UGM Website in the future. The object of this research is the main UGM website which can be accessed at http://ugm.ac.id. Participants in this usability test are the general public who are active internet users aged 17-24 years. The public is defined as UGM external parties who have the possibility to open the UGM Website for certain purposes. The number of participant data used in this study were 2 students, 5 students, and 5 employees. The usability test is carried out using the performance measurement method, System Usability Scale (SUS), and thinking aloud protocol. There were 8 main usability problems of the UGM Website that found, there was no information about the content on the menu so the user had to try the menu one by one, the information listed was incomplete, the information was not conveyed consistently, menu choices directed to other websites so that users got lost easily, the layout required a lot of scrolling to get information, information is not grouped regularly, menu choices use unfamiliar words, menu choices lead to inappropriate pages. The result of the study shows that the usability level based on the indicators of effectiveness was 0.70, efficiency was 116.96 seconds, and satisfaction was 34.79 (grade F). The analysis indicates that it is necessary to improve the UGM Website. Recommendations to fix the issues include checking and updating information content and the delivery format on the UGM Website regularly, implementing the pop-up navigation feature on menu options, adding information about the list of content on the main menu content page, applying the concept of "open link in new tab" if the menu directs to another website, and review the words choice for the menu.
