Politik Tubuh: Artikulasi Gender dan Seksualitas dalam Film Lengger Sang Penari (2011) dan Kucumbu Tubuh Indahku (2018)

Fenomena tubuh sebagai arena dipraktikkannya merupakan politik tubuh yang melibatkan interseksi gender dan seksualitas. Praktik kuasa atas tubuh juga diartikulasikan dalam film lengger berjudul Sang Penari (2011) dan Kucumbu Tubuh Indahku (2018). Karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan membongkar bagaimana politik tubuh lengger terkait isu gender dan seksualitas diartikulasikan melalui dua film tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode naratif dengan mengambil beberapa elemen naratif seperti suara, karakter, fokalisasi, dan teknik kamera. Data diambil dari scene penting dalam dua film tersebut dan dianalisis dengan merelasikan isu politik tubuh. Penelitian tentang politik tubuh yang melibatkan gender, seksualitas dan rezim penguasa sudah dilakukan oleh Larasati (2005), akan tetapi penelitian ini tidak mengulas tubuh homoseksualitas. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa relasi gender menjadi alat dipraktikkannya politik tubuh yang berujung peliyanan. Hal ini direpresentasikan dalam penubuhan ideologi gender di Indonesia yang menempatkan gender biner secara berseberangan. Tubuh bergender mengalami mistifikasi dan demistifikasi karena dikaitkan dengan femininitasnya, sedangkan maskulinitas hegemonik dalam wujud yang berbeda pada setiap rezim menjadi yang diangankan. Pada akhirnya, praktik kuasa atas tubuh ini juga menghasilkan resistensi oleh subjek bergender tersebut. Selain itu, politik seksual dalam interseksi gender dan seksualitas melibatkan opresi gender dan opresi seksual. Ronggeng adalah manifestasi seksualisasi tubuh perempuan dalam kelindan heteronormativitas, sedangkan lengger yang direpresentasikan sebagai homoseksualitas justru menunjukkan subversi kestabilan gender dan moralitas. Dalam hal ini, baik tubuh perempuan maupun tubuh homoseksual menjadi sang liyan yang melakukan resistensi dalam relasi seksual tersebut. Dari relasi antara politik tubuh yang melibatkan interseksi gender dan seksualitas dapat dibongkar adanya interkonektivitas politik tubuh dengan rezim. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya pola mekanisme kontrol untuk kepatuhan tubuh seperti dalam film era Reformasi. Dalam hal ini fitnah seksual melalui mobilisasi wacana PKI dan penegakan moral melalui tubuh (body morality) menjadi alat untuk terus mereproduksi tubuh yang patuh (docile body).

The phenomenon of the body as a site, defined as body politic, involves the intersection of gender and sexuality. However, the practice of power over the body is also articulated in the lengger films entitled Sang Penari (2011) and Kucumbu Tubuh Indahku (2018). Therefore, this study is aimed at revealing how the body politic related to gender and sexuality are articulated through those two films. This study uses a narrative method by taking several narrative elements such as sound, character, focalization, and camera techniques. The data is taken from important scenes in the two films and analysed by relating the issue of body politic. Larasati (2013) has conducted research on body politic involving gender, sexuality and the ruling regime, however this research does not include the body of homosexuality. The results of this study indicate that gender relations are a mean for the practice of body politic which leads to the othering. This is represented in the embodiment of gender ideology in Indonesia, which places binary gender opposites. Gendered bodies experience mystification and demystification because they are associated with femininity, while hegemonic masculinities in different forms in each regime becomes their ambitions. At the end, this practice of power over the body also produces resistance that is done by the gendered subject. In addition, sexual politics involves intersection of gender and sexuality leads to gender oppression and sexual oppression. Ronggeng is a manifestation of the sexualization of women's bodies in heteronormativity, while lengger which is represented as homosexuality actually shows the subversion of gender stability and morality. In this case, both the female body and the homosexual body become the other who performs resistance in the sexual relationship. Therefore, the relationship between body politic which involves the intersection of gender and sexuality revealed the interconnectivity of body politic with the ruling regime. This shows that there is a pattern of control mechanisms for the subjugation of body as depicted in the Reformation era films. At this point, sexual slander is practiced by the mobilization of PKI discourse and body morality. Further, it is aimed at reproducing a docile body.
