KOMPLEKSITAS ALUR DALAM NOVEL AIB DAN NASIB KARYA MINANTO

Penelitian ini menggunakan objek material novel Aib dan Nasib karya Minanto. Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah kompleksitas alur novel Aib dan Nasib yang meliputi peristiwa, episode, tahapan alur, suspense, surprise, dan kesatupaduan. Teori yang digunakan untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut adalah teori strukturalisme Robert Stanton sebagai teori utama yang didukung oleh teori-teori lainnya. Novel Aib dan Nasib dipilih sebagai objek material karena penyajian peristiwanya tidak kronologis sehingga ada kemungkinan terjadi penundaan alur, suspense, dan surprise. Selain itu, banyaknya konflik dalam novel mengindikasi adanya keberagaman alur. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif analisis, yaitu mendeskripsikan fakta dan data dalam teks yang kemudian dianalisis untuk memberikan penjelasan permasalahan alur dalam novel Aib dan Nasib. Adapun hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. Pertama, peristiwa dan episode yang tidak disusun secara kronologis menunjukkan adanya pelompatan episode. Pelompatan episode menyebabkan terjadinya penundaan alur dalam novel Aib dan Nasib. Kedua, terdapat tiga jenis alur dalam novel ini, yaitu alur longgar, alur tunggal, dan alur sorot-balik. Alur longgar terlihat dari kerumitan hubungan antartokoh dan antarperistiwa. Kerumitan tersebut menyebabkan adanya digresi atau peristiwa yang tidak memengaruhi alur. Alur tunggal terlihat dari keberagaman konflik yang mengakibatkan novel terkesan seperti himpunan pengalaman hidup tokoh-tokohnya. Alur sorot-balik terjadi karena cerita dimulai dari puncak konflik, yaitu tahap klimaks. Ketiga, adanya suspense dan surprise dalam novel disebabkan peristiwa dan episode yang tidak kronologis. Keempat, unsur-unsur alur dalam novel ini saling berhubungan sehingga membentuk cerita yang padu. Alur juga berhubungan dengan penokohan, latar, judul, tema, dan amanat sehingga dapat membangun cerita.

This study uses a material object novel Aib dan Nasib of Minanto. The main problem in this study is the complexity of the plot of the novel Aib dan Nasib which includes events, episodes, plot stages, suspense, surprise, and unity. The theory used to answer this problem is Robert Stanton's structuralism theory as the main theory which is supported by other theories. The novel Aib dan Nasib was chosen as the material object because the events is not chronological, so there is a possibility of plot delays, suspense and surprise. In addition, many conflicts in the novel indicate the diversity of plots. This study was conducted using descriptive analysis method, namely describing facts and data in the text which were then analyzed to provide an explanation of the plot problems in the novel Aib dan Nasib. The research results are as follows. First, events and episodes that are not arranged in chronological order indicate a skipping episode. Skipping episodes caused a delay in the plot of the novel Aib dan Nasib. Second, there are three types of plots in this novel, namely loose plots, single plots, and flashback plots.The loose plot can be seen from the complexity of the relationships between characters and between events. The complexity causes events that do not affect the plot. The single plot can be seen from the diversity of conflicts that make the novel seem like a collection of life experiences of the characters. The flashback plot is because the story starts from the peak of the conflict, which is the climax stage. Third, the existence of suspense and surprise in the novel is caused by events and episodes that are not chronological. Lastly, the plot elements in this novel are interconnected to form a coherent story. Plot is also related to characterization, setting, title, and theme so that it can build the story.
