Evaluasi Usability SIMASTER dengan Computer System Usability Questionnaire

Teknologi informasi dan komunikasi kian berkembang, termasuk pada bidang pendidikan. Salah satu teknologi pendukung pendidikan yang berkembang adalah Student Information System (SIS). Pada SIS, usability merupakan aspek yang perlu diperhatikan. Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) memiliki SIS bernama SIMASTER yang digunakan oleh berbagai kelompok pengguna yang merupakan sivitas akademika di UGM. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui permasalahan usability dari SIMASTER jika penggunanya adalah mahasiswa, dosen, dan tenaga kependidikan, serta membuat rekomendasi pengembangan untuk SIMASTER di masa mendatang. Objek pada penelitian ini ini adalah website SIMASTER. Kuesioner Computer System Usability Questionnaire (CSUQ) dibagikan kepada tiga kelompok pengguna, yaitu mahasiswa aktif, dosen aktif, dan tenaga kependidikan aktif Program Sarjana Universitas Gadjah Mada. Jumlah data responden yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 379 responden mahasiswa, 138 responden dosen, dan 32 responden tenaga kependidikan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masalah usability terkait Information Quality merupakan masalah yang paling perlu diperhatikan karena memiliki penilaian paling rendah. Pada skala 1-7, Information Quality mendapatkan penilaian 4,9 (±0,9) dari mahasiswa, 5,1 (±1,0) dari dosen, dan 5,3 (±1,1) dari tenaga kependidikan. Masalah utama dari Information Quality adalah terbatasnya informasi ketika pengguna mengalami error atau kesulitan dalam menggunakan SIMASTER dan sulitnya pengguna dalam mendapatkan informasi yang mereka butuhkan. Rekomendasi perbaikan untuk masalah ini adalah menampilkan pesan error yang memberitahukan penyebab terjadinya error dan petunjuk penyelesaian error, menyediakan dokumen bantuan yang berisi petunjuk penggunaan sistem atau dokumen Frequently Asked Question (FAQ) dan fitur online chat yang dapat diakses pengguna jika menemukan kesulitan, dan menyediakan fitur pencarian untuk dapat mencari informasi atau menu berdasarkan kata kunci tertentu.

Information and communication technology is developing rapidly, including in the field of education. One of the developing educational technologies is the Student Information System (SIS). In SIS, usability is an aspect that needs to be considered. Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has a SIS called SIMASTER which is used by various groups of users who are academic civitas at UGM. This study aims to determine the usability problems of SIMASTER if the users are students, lecturers, and educational staff, and make recommendations for the development of SIMASTER in the future. The object of this research is the SIMASTER website. The Computer System Usability Questionnaire (CSUQ) was distributed to three groups of users, namely active students, active lecturers, and active educational staff of the Universitas Gadjah Mada Undergraduate Program. The number of respondent data used in this study were 379 student respondents, 138 lecturer respondents, and 32 educational staff respondents. The results of the study indicate that usability issues related to Information Quality are the most important issues to consider because they have the lowest ratings. In the scale 1-7, Information Quality got the score of 4,9 (±0,9) from student, 5,1 (±1,0) from lecturer, and 5,3 (±1,1) from educational staff. The main problem of Information Quality is the limited information when users experience errors or difficulties in using SIMASTER and the difficulty of users in getting the information they need. Recommendations for fixing this problem are displaying an error message that tells the cause of the error and instructions for resolving the error, providing help documents containing instructions of how to use the system or Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) documents and online chat features that can be accessed by users if they encounter difficulties, and providing searching feature that can be used to search for information or menus based on specific keywords.
