Pengaruh Upah Minimum terhadap Perubahan Status Pekerja dan Upah Pekerja di Kawasan Jabodetabek

Dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya penerapan kebijakan upah minimum yang tidak diterapkan secara penuh, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh upah minimum terhadap perubahan status pekerja dan upah pekerja di Kawasan Jabodetabek. Penelitian ini menggunakan regresi multinomial logit untuk mengestimasi pengaruh upah minimum terhadap perubahan status pekerja dan regresi linear berganda untuk mengestimasi pengaruh upah minimum terhadap upah pekerja formal dan informal pada data level individu hasil Sakernas tahun 2014-2019, dengan mengontrol variabel karakteristik individu, PDRB per kapita, time fixed effects, dan region fixed effects. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan upah minimum memiliki pengaruh postif dan signifikan terhadap probabilitas pekerja untuk bekerja di sektor formal dan sebaliknya menurunkan probabilitas pekerja untuk bekerja di sektor informal. Selain itu, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa upah minimum memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan secara statistik terhadap upah pekerja formal dan adanya lighthouse effect pada sektor informal.

This study aims to examine the effect of minimum wages on changing employment status and wages of workers in Jabodetabek Area where coverage is incomplete. Using a rich data set from Indonesia Labor Force Survey from 2014 to 2019, multinomial logistic regression was conducted to estimate minimum wages impact on changing employment status. Meanwhile, to estimate the effect of minimum wages on formal and informal wages, this study applies a cross sectional regression. The model includes control variables such as individual characteristic, GRDP per capita, time fixed effects, and region fixed effects. The result showed that minimum wages had a significant positive effect on the probability of being formal employed and conversely decrease the probability of being informal employed. Regarding wages of worker, this study found statistically significant positive effects of minimum wages on formal sector wages, while there are lighthouse effect on informal sector.
