Skandal Politik dan Figur Publik: Survei Pengaruh Skandal Perceraian Basuki Tjahaja Purnama dan Veronica Tan Terhadap Sikap Politik "Ahokers"

Masyarakat Indonesia dekat dengan istilah figur publik dan selebriti, namun perbedaan antar keduanya seringkali belum dapat dipahami dengan benar. Minat masyarakat terhadap konten yang berfokus pada ranah hiburan, lifestyle, dan gosip, juga kehadiran media yang memfasilitasi hal tersebut membuat proses "selebrifikasi" kerap terjadi. Proses tersebut lantas berakibat pada ruang pribadi figur publik ikut menjelma sebagai konsumsi publik. Topik mengenai skandal seringkali menjadi bahasan yang cukup populer, tidak terkecuali apabila subjek dalam skandal tersebut adalah seorang figur publik. Namun, kajian terhadapnya belum banyak terdokumentasikan. Pada tahun 2018 terdapat berita besar mengenai perceraian salah satu politisi Indonesia yaitu Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok/BTP) dengan mantan isterinya Veronica Tan. Berita perceraian tersebut kemudian membawa isu skandal perselingkuhan naik ditengah panasnya atmosfir pilkada, situasi tersebut kemudian membuat perhatian publik terpecah dengan hadirnya respon yang beragam. Beragam penelitian sebelumnya menunjukan bahwa skandal dapat berpengaruh negatif terhadap sikap masyarakat kepada sosok politisi yang terlibat dalam skandal. Sementara itu, di Indonesia skandal menjadi sebuah hal yang sering dilakukan, wajib diketahui, namun enggan untuk dibahas secara mendalam terutama mengenai dampak yang ditimbulkan akibat skandal tersebut. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian yang akan melibatkan sekitar 400 responden ini hadir untuk melihat secara garis besar tentang bagaimana respons masyarakat Indonesia terhadap politisi yang terlibat skandal dan bagaimana skandal memengaruhi elektabilitas politisi tersebut.

Indonesian society is very familiar with the terms of public figures and celebrities, but the differences between the two are not properly understood. Public interest in the content that focuses on entertainment, lifestyle, and gossip, as well as the presence of the media that facilitate it, makes the process of "celebrification" frequently occurs. As a result, the private space of public figures is being transformed into public consumption. The topic of scandals is quite popular, even if the subject of the scandal is a public figure. However, studies on it have not been widely documented. In 2018, there was big news about the divorce of an Indonesian politician, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok/BTP) with his ex-wife, Veronica Tan. The news of the divorce then brought the issue of the affair scandal to rise in the midst of the hot local election atmosphere, this situation split public attention with the presence of various responses. Various previous studies have shown that scandals could negatively affect people�s attitudes towards politicians who are involved in it. Meanwhile in Indonesia, scandals are something that�s often done, must be known, but somehow reluctant to be discussed, especially about the impact caused by the scandal. Therefore, this study which will involve around 400 respondents is here to see an outline of how the Indonesian public responds to politicians who are involved in the scandal and how the scandal could affect the electability of those politicians.
