LATAR NOVEL REMBULAN TENGGELAM DI WAJAHMU KARYA TERE LIYE

Objek material dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu karya Tere Liye. Objek formal dalam penelitian ini adalah teori struktural latar menurut para ahli. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analitik. Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah latar novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu yang meliputi unsur-unsur latar, fungsi latar, serta hubungan antarlatar dan hubungan antarunsur novel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan unsur-unsur latar, menguraikan fungsi-fungsi latar, serta mendeskripsikan hubungan antarlatar dan antarunsur novel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa unsur latar novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu terdiri atas latar waktu, latar tempat, latar sosial, dan latar alat. Setiap latar memiliki dua fungsi, yaitu sebagai metafora dan sebagai atmosfer. Keseluruhan unsur latar berkaitan erat dengan unsur fiksi lainnya. Unsur-unsur tersebut adalah alur, tokoh, judul, dan tema. Hubungan antarlatar dan antarunsur membangun kesatupaduan cerita di dalam novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu.

The materials object in this research is novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu by Tere Liye. The formal object in this research is setting structure theory from many experts. The methodology is descriptive analysis method. The main problem in this research is the setting of the novel Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu, including elements of setting, functions of setting, relation between settings, and relation between elements of novel. This research aims to explain the the elements of settings, function of the setting, and to describe the relationship between the settings and the elements of the novel. The results showed that the setting of Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu novel consisted of time, place, social, and instrument settings. Each setting has two function, namely as metaphor element and as atmosphere. The whole setting elements and another fiction element are related. These another elements are plot, characters, title, and theme. The relation between settings and elements build the unity of the story in the Rembulan Tenggelam di Wajahmu novel.
