School 2013 is a Korean drama written by Lee Hyeon-ju and Go Jeong-won and directed by Lee Min-hong and Lee Eung-bok. School 2013 discusses about education fever in South Korean society that pays great attention to education. This study aims to analyze the causes, forms, and negative effects of education fever depicted in the drama. This research uses the theory of literary sociology presented by Ian Watt (1964). One aspect from Ian Watt's theory is used, i.e. Watt's statement that literary work can be seen as a reflection of a society. Based on the result of the analysis, there are 2 forms of education fever reflected in the drama: high participation of students in private educational institutions (hakwon) and the emergence of night self-study (yaganjayulhakseub). Three causes of high education fever in Korean society as portrayed in the drama are family's socio-economic background, parent's desire of obtaining success in life, and the schools competition in getting recognition. Finally, the negative effects of education fever reflected in the drama are divided into three forms. First, its effects on students such as psychological effects and physical effects. Second, its effect on the relationship between family members and the last one is moral effects such as the leaking of examination paper.
