PENGARUH INDUSTRI KELAPA SAWIT TERHADAP EKOSISTEM DALAM FILM DOKUMENTER ASIMETRIS DITINJAU DARI ETIKA BIOSENTRISME

Penelitian tentang film dokumenter Asimetris yang ditinjau dalam perspektif biosentrisme dilatarbelakangi oleh problem moral yang ditimbulkan akibat perluasan industri kelapa sawit. Munculnya berbagai problema etis yang ditimbulkan oleh perluasan lahan perkebunan telah melanggar hak asasi manusia, hak asasi hewan, hak asasi alam. Film dokumenter Asimetris sendiri menceritakan mengenai dampak yang ditimbulkan bagi masyarakat di sekitar wilayah konsensi perkebunan dan wilayah konsensi hutan serta organisme lain di sekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman mengenai lingkungan dari sudut pandang etika biosentrisme dalam menganalisis problema moral yang dihadapi oleh masyarakat dan organisme yang hidup di sekitar perkebunan kelapa sawit. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif bidang filsafat, jenis penelitian yang merupakan kajian kepustakaan mengenai masalah aktual. Bahan penelitian berasal dari buku, jurnal, film, dan transkrip yang berkaitan dengan penelitian. Jalan penelitian dilakukan melalui tahapan yaitu inventarisasi dan kategorisasi, klasifikasi, analisis-sintesis, dan evaluasi kritis. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan verstehen, interpretasi, hermeneutika, dan holistika. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu film dokumenter Asimetris mencoba mendobrak cara pandang manusia yang masih Antroposentris. Eksploitasi alam yang berlebihan demi menunjang kepentingan manusia telah menciderai nilai alam dan kehidupan di dalamnya. Pandangan Biosentrisme yang memiliki pemahaman bahwa bukan hanya manusia yang memiliki nilai tetapi makhluk hidup lainnya juga memiliki nilai pada dirinya sendiri sangat terkait dalam penelitian ini. Film dokumenter Asimetris memuat prinsip-prinsip etika lingkungan dan tiga teori etika Biosentrisme., yaitu : 1). Teori Lingkungan yang Berpusat Pada Kehidupan: menurut teori ini, manusia mempunyai kewajiban moral terhadap alam. 2). The Land ethic : inti dari The Land Ethic yaitu berusaha merubah cara pandang manusia yang hanya melihat bumi dan seisinya sekedar alat dan objek ekonomis. 3). Anti-Spesiesme: teori ini merupakan teori yang menuntut perlakuan yang sama bagi semua makhluk hidup. Teori etika Biosentrisme dalam film dokumenter Asimetris memusatkan perhatian terhadap akar permasalah dari penyebab kerusakan lingkungan, dan berusaha memberikan pemahaman bahwa kehidupan makhluk hidup lain juga memiliki nilai dirinya sendiri

The research of a documentary film called Asimetris has reviewed with a biocentrism perspective and with morality problems occurred because of the palm oil industry expansion as the background. The emergence of various ethical problems caused by the expansion of plantation land including violations of human rights, animal rights, as well as natural rights. This documentary film itself tells about the impact on surrounding communities of the plantation concession area and the forest concession area as well as other organisms within the area. The purpose of this study is to provide an understanding of the environment from the biocentrism point of view in analyzing the morality problems faced by communities and organisms that live around the oil palm plantations. This research is qualitative research in philosophy with a literature study on actual problems as the type of research. The research materials are derived from related books, journals, films, and also transcripts. The research has done through several steps, which are inventory and categorization, classification, analysis-synthesis, and critical evaluation. The research applies verstehen, interpretation, hermeneutics, and holistic for the data analysis. The results of this research are the Asimetris documentary film that tries to distort the human perspective which is still anthropocentric. Excessive exploitation of nature in order to support human interests has damaged the value of nature and life in it. Biocentric views that have an understanding that not only humans have values but other living creatures also have values in themselves are very related in this study. The Asimetris documentary film contains the principles of environmental ethics and three ethical theories of Biocentrism, videlicet: 1). Life-centered environmental theory: according to this theory, humans have a moral obligation to nature. 2). The Land ethic: the core of The Land Ethic is trying to change the perspective of humans who only see the earth and everything in it is just tools and economic objects. 3). Anti-Species: this theory is a theory that demands equal treatment for all living things. The ethical theory of Biocentrism in the Asimetris documentary focuses its attention on the root causes of environmental damage and seeks to provide an understanding that the life of other living things also has its own value.
