REPRESENTASI SEJARAH PERANG KOREA DALAM FILM WELCOME TO DONGMAKGOL (WELKEOM TU DONGMAKGOL)

Penelitian ini membahas tentang representasi Sejarah Perang Korea dalam film Welcome to Dongmakgol karya sutradara Park Kwang-hyun. Film Welcome to Dongmakgol menggambarkan peristiwa sejarah yang terjadi selama masa awal Perang Korea. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah representasi peristiwa-peristiwa sejarah yang terjadi selama Perang Korea dan juga menjelaskan fakta sejarah yang ada dalam film tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori sosiologi sastra dari Wellek dan Warren. Sementara itu, analisisnya menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Melalui pendekatan ini, dialog dan adegan dengan latar Perang Korea yang muncul di dalam film Welcome to Dongmakgol akan dihubungkan dengan peristiwa-peristiwa sejarah yang terjadi selama Perang Korea. Hal ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana karya sastra mencerminkan sejarah Perang Korea. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini diambil dari dialog dan adegan dengan latar Perang Korea yang terdapat di dalam film. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa dalam film Welcome to Dongmakgol terdapat 5 (lima) peristiwa yang merepresentasikan Perang Korea. Peristiwa-peristiwa yang berkaitan dengan Perang Korea tersebut adalah penembakan prajurit Korea Utara di pegunungan, kekhawatiran pasukan Korea Utara terhadap pendaratan Sekutu di Incheon, invasi Korea Utara terhadap Korea Selatan, pembunuhan warga sipil yang tidak pandang bulu oleh pasukan bersenjata dan pembantaian warga yang menolong gerilyawan atau komunis. Terdapat beberapa perbedaan rincian antara representasi di dalam film dengan fakta sejarah, tetapi hal tersebut tidak mengubah inti dari fakta yang direpresentasikan. Misalnya terkait dengan nama tempat yang sama sekali tidak disebutkan pada setiap peristiwa yang terjadi di dalam film. Di dalam film Welcome to Dongmakgol peristiwa-peristiwa tersebut ditampilkan agar bersifat lebih umum dan tidak menjurus kepada suatu fakta sejarah yang pasti. Di dalam film ini, bukan hanya sejarah mengenai Perang Korea saja yang ditawarkan, akan tetapi unsur komedi dan sedikit unsur fantasi juga ditunjukkan. Itulah yang menjadi perbedaan antara representasi dalam film Welcome to Dongmakgol dengan fakta sejarah yang ada.

This research discusses the representation of History of the Korean War in the Welcome to Dongmakgol movie directed by Park Kwang-hyun. Welcome to Dongmakgol represents historical events that occurred during the early Korean War. This research aims to identify the representation of historical events that occurred during the Korean War and to explain the historical facts in the movie. This research uses Wellek and Warren's literary sociology theory. As for the data analysis, a qualitative-descriptive research method is used. Through this theory, dialogues and scenes with Korean War background in the "Welcome to Dongmakgol" will be compared to the historical events that occurred during Korean War. This is intended to describe to what extent a literary work reflects the history of the Korean War. The data used in this research were taken from the dialogues and scenes from Korean War background in the movie. The results of the analysis indicates that there are five events representing the Korean War in Welcome to Dongmakgol. Five events associated with Korean War in the movie are the shooting of North Korean soldiers in the mountains, North Korea's concern over the Allied landing in Incheon, North Korea's invasion of South Korea, indiscriminate killings of civilians by armed forces, and the massacres of citizens who assisted guerrillas or communists. There are some differences in details between the representations in the film and historical facts, but this does not change the essence of the facts. For example, the names of places are not mentioned in all scenes in the film. In the Welcome to Dongmakgol, these scenes are shown in such a way that do not correspond to any definite historical fact. The movie does not only offer the real facts about Korean War, but it also presents comedic elements and a bit of fantasy elements. Those are the differences between the historical facts and scenes in Welcome to Dongmakgol.
