Peran Perempuan dalam Pengembangan Pariwisata Inklusif : Studi Kasusu di Pulau Karampuang Sulawesi Barat

INTISARI Penulisan tesis ini bertujuan mengkaji faktor-faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi pengembangan pariwisata inklusif yang ditandai dengan peningkatan status pulau Karampuang sebagai destinasi pariwisata terpopuler di provinsi Sulawesi Barat. Berangkat dari fenomena meningkatnya jumlah tenaga kerja perempuan yang berstatus penduduk lokal pulau Karampuang. Para perempuan penduduk lokal tersebut lebih banyak yang bekerja sebagai buruh pekerja rumah tangga atau buruh informal lainnya di luar pulau daripada terlibat dalam pemanfaatan potensi pariwisata pulau Karampuang sebagai one of top destination tourism Sulawesi Barat (Tourism Mapping of West Sulawesi Province, 2018). Kurangnya keterlibatan masyarakat lokal, khususnya kelompok perempuan dalam proses pemanfaatan potensi pariwisata pulau Karampuang dilihat sebagai bentuk eksklusifitas pariwisata yang dicurigai menjadi salah satu penyebab para tenaga kerja perempuan tersebut lebih terserap sebagai buruh pekerja rumah tangga dan buruh cuci di luar pulau Karampuang. Faktor budaya, yakni kesadaran pendidikan yang masih rendah dan pernikahan usia dini yang masih tinggi menjadi penyebab kurangnya peran perempuan dalam peningkatan pariwisata inklusif di Pulau Karampuang. ABSTRACT The thesis aims to examine factors influence the development of inclusive tourism which is marked by an increase in the status of Pulau Karampuang as the most popular tourism destination in the West Sulawesi provinve. Based on the phenomenon of increasing the number of female workers whose status is local residents of Pulau Karampuang. The local women are more likely to work as domestic workers or other informal workers outside the island than to be involved in exploiting the tourism potential of Pulau Karampuang as one of the top tourism destinations in West Sulawesi (Tourism Mapping of West Sulawesi Province, 2018). The lack of involvement of local communities, especially women's groups in the process of exploiting the tourism potential of Pulau Karampuang is seen as a form of tourism exclusivity that is suspected to be one of the reasons why these female workers are absorbed as domestic workers and washing workers outside Pulau Karampuang. Cultural factors, low awareness of education and high early age of marriage are the causes of the lack of women's role in increasing inclusive tourism in Pulau Karampuang.
