INTISARI Penelitian ini membahas hasrat tokoh utama dalam novel Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu karya Puthut EA. Permasalahan yang akan dibahas ialah hasrat tokoh utama yang tersembunyi dibalik penanda penanda dalam novel ini. Selanjutnya, penenlitian ini akan memaparkan tentang hasrat menjadi dan memiliki. Psikoanalisis Lacan dipilih sebagai teori untuk memecahkan masalah tersebut. Melalui Psikoanalisis Lacan, kita dapat mengetahui metafora dan metonimi yang tersembunyi di balik novel Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu. Novel Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu telah dikaji dengan teori psikoanalisis Lacan, menunjukkan bahwa tokoh aku sebagai tokoh utama memiliki hasrat yang terpendam dalam diri tokoh. Hasrat yang muncul dalam diri tokoh muncul karena adanya kekurangan yang terjadi sehingga kekurangan yang dimiliki oleh tokoh aku dimanifestasikan memlalui karya yang berjudul Mata Massa sebagai cara untuk memperoleh kepenuhan. Setelah memperoleh hasrat melalui penanda-penanda yang ada pada novel Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu menunjukkan bahwa tokoh aku memiliki hasrat. Hasrat tersebut terbagi atas hasrat menjadi dan hasrat memiliki. Hasrat menjadi (narsistik) tokoh aku dalam novel ini merupakan wujud dari identifikasi tokoh aku terhadap ibunya memalui kebiasaan gemar membaca, kebebasan mengeluarkan pendapat serta sikap kritis. Hasrat memiliki tokoh aku dalam novel Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu mencari keutuhan melalui objek a yaitu kebebasan berpendapat. Kebebasan berpendapat berkaitan dengan profesi tokoh aku sebagai penulis yang ingin memberikan kritik secara bebas. Sebagai penulis lepas, tokoh aku memiliki kesempatan untuk melakukan kritiknya dengan leluasa karena tidak berkaitan dengan instansi manapun. Penulis yang kritis dalam hal ini terhalang oleh undang-undang yang mengatur tentang kebebasan berpendapat. Hal tersebut menyebabkan tokoh aku terus mengalami kekurangan.

This research discusses the desires of the main character in the novel Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu by Puthut EA. The problem to be discussed is the desire of the main character hidden behind the markers in this novel. Furthermore, this research will explain about the desire to be and desire to have. Psychoanalysis Lacan was chosen as a theory to solve the problem. Through Lacan's Psychoanalysis, we can find out the metaphors and metonymies hidden behind the novel Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu. Novel Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu has been reviewed with Lacan's psychoanalytic theory, showing that my character as the main character has a desire that is hidden in the character. The desire that arises in the character arises because of the deficiencies that occur so that the deficiencies of the characters �aku� manifest are manifested through a work called Mata Massa as a way to obtain fullness. After gaining desire through the markers in the novel Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu that my character has a desire. The desire is divided into the desire to be and the desire to have. The desire to be (narcissistic) my character in this novel is a manifestation of my character's identification with her mother through the habit of reading, freedom of expression and critical attitude. The desire to have my character in the novel Cinta Tak Pernah Tepat Waktu seeks wholeness through object a, namely freedom of speech. Freedom of opinion is related to the profession of my character as a writer who wants to give free criticism. As a freelance writer, my character has the opportunity to criticize freely because it is not related to any institution. Writers who are critical in this matter are hindered by laws governing freedom of speech. This causes my character continues to experience shortcomings.
